I’ll have to wait for the Yak-9, but I definitely want the F-6 version, well done Arma !

Wulfman

I'd been more happy with a Yak-9 too... as Brengun also has started a Yak-series, the 9 may come from that source first?

Where's the cameras for the F-6 version, by the way? Can't see them on the 3D renders,

My  dreams are answered! Looks like they got everything pretty much right, and I'm sure they have plenty of time to correct any obvious flaws that will be pointed out by the micro modelers. I was hoping it would be either them or Eduard to release one.  They better be setting aside a LOT of boxes and plastic pellets to meet the demand. If it's anything like their other releases, this one could be a definite contender for kit of the year for 2021! Looks like they got the straight wing spar/rear wheel bay wall correct, and an  option for dropped flaps! My only question, as it's hard to tell in the CAD shots, is that they get the upper cowling contours right, as only the old Monogram and Hasegawa kits have gotten that right in 1/72- all the other kits have that area too rounded. Like @Corsairfoxfouruncle, who alerted me to the announcement, I am doing my happy dance! :clap2:

Put me down for at least three! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Arma Hobby! (That rustling sound you hear is happy modelers all around the world squirreling away the money for their anticipated orders!)

While those schemes above are of course great, I really hope we see something new on the decal front.

And as I have the Techmod decals, I'm planning on starting with one of the NMF aircraft flown by 309 or 316 Squadrons on long-range escorts in 1945. I quite like the understated look.

Good afternoon

There are many decals sheets available to satisfy all Mustang enthusiasts and I am sure that we will see more coming when the kit will be available ...

Best Regards

One option is the one transferred to the RSwAF after making an emergency landing in Sweden - decals are available from mooserepublic.se

Hannants have Loads of decals for p-51s

Yes, but for the modeller of 8th AF subjects, there are still certain fighter groups that are not well represented. For instance, how many 339th FG options are there? It's not like there aren't plenty of good photos for reference.

The 4th and 357th have plenty of options with a great deal of those subjects having been done over and over by different manufacturers. It would be nice to see a bit more variation and originality for once.

Anyway, I'm particularly glad that Arma are not only doing the P-51B/C, but are including both styles of canopy, fins, exhausts and drop tanks and the option to drop the flaps. There're a good bunch, those Arma lads.

This sounds really good (having a P-51B from Arma Hobby); regarding the decals I am interested in the 306 fighter wing as part of the 15th AF. This fighter groups were all stationed in Italy (31st, 52nd, 325th, 332rd) and all of them were flying Mustangs.

I will start drawing my own decals for a particular P-51B that crash-landed on 22. February 1945 in Switzerland. It's named Little Ambassador, SN 43-24853.

This is a picture how she is looking:

considering the interest Arma has for polish aviation aviation History I think we may see several of this kind of subjects. One or more special Edition boxes dedicate to Polish Aces are more than probable.  spacer.png

∆ both of which have been done before.

edit: apologies if I come across as rude, I'm just a little frustrated at the choice of options provided by kit and decal manufacturers thus far. Maybe with this (hopefully) super, new kit, there might be some new decals to go with it.

I'm currently building L'il Kitten at the moment, using the Academy kit and some old Repli-Scale decals.

Another possible "forced landing build" using the MRD decals is the P-51B "Hot Pants"...
