tobias.ehn
Hey guys, it's me again. And again I have some questions about the Super Hornet. I will build a diorama and I plan on opening up some panels on my 1/144 SH. Soo, my question: what kinda panels could I open up? (I know this question is pretty general...) Also I found this image:what is he/she doing there and what is this cable? Is it like a power cable? Thank you for any anwsers
Julien
Look like some sort of test equipment, and the large cable is supplying power to the aircraft systems.
ESzczesniak
The open door is the fun access panel. I’m not sure if the rounds are loaded through there, but the arming switches are there and some control feeds. As mentioned, it looks like some diagnostic boxes are connected and the cable is ground power to avoid running the APU.
Scooby
Power cable and that is the gun door. The boxes are used to bypass the Weight on Gear switches in order to troubleshoot faults or simulate flight conditions to run systems that we can’t on the ground. We have to be very careful during these checks as guns can be armed and gear can be accidentally retracted. But there are safeguards in place. FZ6
The shipping is expensive but I can highly recommend this book as I have picked it up recently for my Super Hornet project. https://www.reidairpublishing.com/books/the-modern-super-hornet-guide-2nd-edition
