I believe I have that sheet. It will be nice to see how you get on with it. Hopefully you'll get the transfers on with no problems!

Regards,

Jason

I've used Xtradecal sheets before and never had any issues.

That's me jinxed that then.

To paraphrase Mal, "It'll all be Shiny"

Those wheels look nice too.

Time for bed said Zebedee..

Simon.

Thank you.

Aye it's almost time for the Six-o-Clock News with Richard Baker.

Cheers,

Alistair

I present you with the results of two marathon transfer sessions totalling four hours this afternoon and evening.

So, that's the underside, wings and Starboard side done. I can't show you the underside just now as it's all been hit with Micro-sol.

I had one problem, apart from trying to get stuff in a straight line. The rear Danger Propeller signage was some stuck permanently to the backing paper and I'll need to do some touching up of the hole it left.

Apart from that everything went on well.

I'm working early tomorrow and might do the Port side when i get back if I have the energy.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Very nice work Ali - admirable patience with all those little stencils :)

Thanks for that.

To be fair the little ones were ok it was the walkway lines that took the time to get to something approximating straight.

I'll get the other side done soon and we should be well on the way.

Cheers,

Alistair

Just caught up with this thread. Wow! Nice work on the seams and the finish.

And now I understand why the thread title!

Regards,

Adrian

Thanks very much,

You probably need to be of a certain age to get the title.

Thanks so much.

They do lend a certain air to the whole thing.

It's coming together.

Hi Alistair

I had got rid of the ear worm until I picked up you thread again  now I am humming it again 🤪

Decals look great and have settled my initial concerns .  I have struggled with some of Revell's  Decals previously.

Great work

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I've had problems with Revell ones before too but these were fairly well behaved.

Nice work on those stencils Alistair.

As for the walk way ones I have those to consider when I go to do the Lanc.

Stay safe.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

It's more time consuming than difficult as you get one bit right then it moves another further along that you'd sorted but with much swearing and sore backs it gets there.

Wow, what a difference the transfers make! Well done getting the long walkway lines in place and straight without kinks, bends or tears.

Shackleton definitely added to my Want One list.

Q

Thanks very much Sir,

There were a couple of tears and kinks but I wasn't going to let it get the better of me.

I was planning the other side tonight but 4hrs sleep then a 12 hr shift have put paid to that. Apologies for that to all.

I will check last nights work in decent light and see if it needs hit with more softener.

Cheers,

Alistair

After another 2 hr session we have this.

For some reason the Fin Flashes decided to break apart as they were applied. No idea what as the rest of the Xtradecal sheet behaved perfectly.

The Port outer went back together perfectly but the inner.

But I have a plan.

I hope to get some paint applied to gear and bay doors later.

Thanks for looking,

Edit:- I realised that I'd left off a no step stencil from the radome.... It's on now.

Alistair

Coming on well, there's a fair few decals on this old bird!

Thanks so much,

There are one or two.

Unfortunately I'm now getting closer to the props and that's pretty much scaring me.

Cheers,

Alistair

Looking good Alistair,  yes it is best for one's mental health to do this over several sessions.  It does look very impressive with the decals going on. I have start humming tgat tube again!!!

Great work fella

Chris

Thanks very much.

I'm afraid I'll be keeping the tune in your head for a while yet based on my glacial speed with this one.

All looks good from here Alistair.

Some lovely stencils added carefully, especially the ones around the cockpit canopy.

Coming along swell.

Stay safe.

Simon.

Thanks Simon.

The Cockpit window ones were a tad tricky as they tended to get all out of shape coming off the backing paper. Lots of manipulation with a toothpick to try and get square.

Not much to update today, I'm afraid.

I did some spraying and some masking.

A wee bit of overspray to correct on the bomb bay door but otherwise all seems good.

I'll sort that out when I get the squirty gun out again.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair
