That's a cracking result, think the Revell one has the edge with the surface detail. How can you have a Shackleton and no rivets !!

I have a built up vac form one somewhere

Thanks very much.

You are absolutely right the rivets and the growl of those Griffons are such a huge part of her charm.

Cheers,

Alistair

Well I would beg to differ, it’s quite easy. Chuck the Revell one in the bin. I’ve built two Airfix kits and I really couldn’t fix those rivets, so a Shackleton without rivets that’s the Airfix way. I sprayed some rivet lines on mine.

I finally removed the digit and got on with things.

The aerials were rigged, windscreen wipers stuck on and the crew ladder from the Airfix MR.2 was nicked and utilised.

Looks absolutely wonderful and enjoyed your WIP. You've helped me make up my mind to keep mine as I was thinking of moving it on at one point.

Great work Alistair

Chris

Thanks so much Chris,

You're encouragement kept pushing me towards the end.

I'm glad you've decided to keep your kit as she looks OK when she's done.

Thanks very much.

I would really like to see a Navy bird build of this just to show me how it should be done.

Cheers,

Alistair

You're very welcome :)

The normal question now is, 'What's next?'

I think something smaller and by coincidence related to one of you recent builds

An Aldi special and Transfers for Amourous Len of the Yoxford boys.

If I can work up the courage for the NMF on the fuselage and Invasion Stripes.
