BritJet
Two RR Soar engines were tested on extended wingtips in the mid-1950s but unfortunately the engine didn't go into production. The engines and extended wingtips are scratchbuilt and the decals are home made. Steve

BritJet
Thanks guys, certainly the only British 4 engined Meteor but I think the French tested an extra two engines on a Meteor as well. Steve

Lord Riot
Excellent model, of a little known mod. I wouldn't have fancied flying that if it lost a wingtip engine!
Head in the clouds.
Nice one Steve, just a great shame more of these one off's could not be saved but there is one at Newark,VZ608, used to test the RB108 vertical lift engine. Edit; just found it in an earlier post, I will shut up...🤐
BritJet
Cheers. On 24/12/2020 at 12:39, Lord Riot said: Excellent model, of a little known mod. I wouldn't have fancied flying that if it lost a wingtip engine! The Soar engine produced a fairly low thrust so I don't think it would have been as much of a problem as losing one of the normal engines. The Trent and Nene Meteors would have made fantastic museum exhibits. Steve
