Looking really good.

The undercarriage is particularly splendid.

Cheers,

Alistair

Thanks Alistair :)

I'll take some proper shots of it later.

Just catching up--you have done a great job with the gloss finish on a unique subject--well done!  Best, Erwin

Thanks Erwin :)

I think I'm going to tone it down with some satin.

Maybe.

What decals are these then Ced, an orange #45 ?

Looking like another success sir.

Simon.

Thanks Simon

Boy, that was quick. What's next?

   :D

Ciao

Thanks Giorgio :)

Hang on, hang on, it's not finished yet… although I may have been fondling a Wyvern.

Of course, because of the 'transfers over the clear bits', the masks had to come off:

Look guys!

You can see the insides!

(If you shine a very bright light from just the right angle):

Some touching up to do, as you can see.

I think the 'transfers over the clear bits' worked nicely though:

I'm hoping another coat of Aqua Gloss will sharpen it up at the end.

Naked side and bottom to do tomorrow:

I also need to:

  • metallise the sticky out bits
  • glue the gear doors on
  • touch up in a few places
  • blend in the canopy a bit more
  • final satin coat.

Nearly there.

I do but our friends in South Park accentuate the “oooooo”. Sorry. 🤪

No worries Johnny… er, where's that Park?

(Just kidding, the cartoon, I know) :D

All looks good from here sir.

Simon.

OK amongst consenting adults I believe :D

Ced, please do remember that this is a family friendly site.

Nice nekkidness!

Sorry hendie, modesty has been restored:

As promised, some close ups of the u/c before the doors go on:

Lovely detail.

I've painted some Filmoplast ready for the framing:

Thanks Dennis - the Tamiya was good actually, good coverage from the AB :)

Curate's Egg this morning.

A tip on BM about the Easycutting mat suggested you could leave tape on the mat.

This is fine for Washi tape but guess what? Not for FilmoPlast.

It won't come off.

Much cursing and scraping later and the mat is clean.

I then stuck a fresh strip on, cut some strips, stuck them on my glass block as usual and painted them:

Hard to see isn't it?

Tell me about it…

With two pairs of tweezers (is that four tweezers then?) and much Anglo-Saxon we're here:

Can't see the framing?

How about now?

As I covered the clear canopy in strips I realised that it would obscure even more of the 'see through' effect so I stopped:

See?

No, I couldn't either.

Just the gear doors and then I'm ready to RFI.

Now in the RFI:

She's been put in the cabinet now:

Wallace looks excited!

Time to tidy up the bench now, then I think I'll start a Wyvern.

Link to follow.

As always, thanks to everyone for their help, support and companionship during this build- really appreciated :)

Exxxcellent Ced, a beautifully manoeuvred see through in the most wonderful colour in the world to get right

Ish

Ish the colour not the paint job, doesn't Tamiya like to colour models well huh, I have become a real enthuser.

Loving the X-1 Ced, top job.

Mixing Tamiya is one of the reasons I like other brands!

Keith

Thanks Keith :D

If I'd seen him before I took the shot I could have had him 'holding up' the model. You know, like those photos you see of people holding up the tour at Pisa.

Ho hum.

Wyvern WiP started:

Come on over!

Thanks Steve :)

I loved NZ when I was there a few years ago.

Not so the flight.

See you when they sort out the teleport!

Thanks Johnny :)

Thought of you as I started to assemble the Wyvern seat.

I'll do my best!
