Star Destroyer and a Droid

Recommended Posts

Rediscovered a Metal Earth etch kit of an Imperial Star Destroyer the other day.  I think I put off making it as the previous kit had tested my eyesight!  The previous one was an R2D2 kit from the same company.  Made a nice change from my usual 1/48 aircraft kits.  Anyway here they are

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

I'm quite a fan of these little Metal Earth models, they're something different and they look pretty good. I have three, the Star Destroyer, Kylo Ren's shuttle and the Normandy SR2 from Mass Effect.

Nice one and seen these on Amazon and EBay too. How easy are they to make?

They test your eyesight!  They are very well designed and are all tabs pushed through pre cut slots & then folded over.  You can see them in this shot of the inside.  Very fiddly and not quick - but having said that nothing to paint or glue

That Star Destroyer looks ace - how big is it?  Are they 1cm square on your cutting mat?

Yes they are.  It is just over 10cm long.  Doesn’t take up too much shelf space.  Unlike the 1/48 C-130 in the loft....
