I'd pay to see the two of you at twenty paces having a duel of words

I hadn't realised Shakespeare was a modeller or was Henry V?

OK I had to Google it.

My education continues :clif:

Let’s see how A Midsummer Night’s Dream fares with our naughty word filters:

”Bottom, thou art translated”

Begs the question to what ??

Bowsprit jigged out with traveller

P1110803

Mizzen goose neck instead of more traditional gaff jaws. This enabled the boom to be raised vertically smothering the sail against the mast enabling quick one man reef.

P1110811

A major success today. Since I started these miniature scratch builds I've been struggling with a way to make wood pulley blocks

The two top left are 2.5 x 1.5mm. The rest 2.0 x 1mm

P1110831

and for anyone daft enough to want to know how

I think the pics explain but feel free to ask. The 0.3mm brass rod is to act as a spacer. Tamiya thin used but use a fine brush to apply or you'll finish up with a blob

P1110814

Apply top layer

P1110816

If making a double work from the top down to ensure holes line up

P1110817

Pop it in the vice to clean / round the end and trim to length. Much easier to handle if you leave it long as long as possible

P1110818

Finished product

P1110832

Thanks for stopping by

Stay safe

P1110861

P1110863

P1110865

and of course I couldn't resist jury rigging the mizzen

P1110871

P1110874

As you can see the jewelry fitted to boom and outrigger

P1110879

Experiment with shroud lashing. Left cord, right thread. Think I'm going with the thread.

slow progress

Trying out flaking the mainsail. This is just a test of scrap material. I've reduced the height of the sail by a third, otherwise you get toooo much bulk

P1110880 (2)

Flaked with the aid of the brass rod, water and PVA glue

P1110888

P1110900

Mizzen sail drawn out

P1110894

Glued on 1mm wide strips to represent seams

P1110895

Trimmed. Wire inserted when turning the hem to be able to get some shape into the sail

P1110896

and a light spray

P1110899

Bolt ropes and eyes next

Thanks for your kind comments and likes

Stay safe
