Brad
I've had this kit in the stash for years, so what better time to whip it out. I got it second hand and it came with some aftermarket seats that have belts molded in so that's nice. I will do the aircraft of Captain Phillip C DeLong. He scored 11 2/3rds kills in WW2 adding an additional 2 Yak 9 kills over Korea, making him one of the very few (perhaps only?) pilot to shoot down an enemy in the same type of aircraft over two wars.
JeroenS
Nice! I read Norman Hanson's "Carrier pilot", in which he describes his escapades flying Corsairs in WW II.

Brad
Steps 3 and 4 mostly done, a short break now to let the super glue dry then it's into sanding.
Brad
Wings on and joints sanded down, there is some work to do around the wing to fuselage join but some superglue should take care of that.

RevDWC
Nice work there Brad. I built this kit about 18 months ago and the closest it came to a fight was the wing root intakes.
Brad
Off to the paint shop for some interior green. 1 hour ago, RevDWC said: Nice work there Brad. Had a little gap there but taking off some plastic really helped the fit.

Brad
Finished, record time with 5 hours to spare. I did a little weathering on it, but decided to leave it a little patchy with regard to the final finish. Looking at pictures I felt hitting it with a flat wouldn't be right, many aircraft were just patchy, with gloss areas, retouched parts, dirt etc etc. I did a light wash, some pastels and called it done with chipping. Thanks for following along.
