Spiny's 2020 - Productive at 4 models

As the title suggests, 2020 was a relatively productive year for me on the modelling front with four compeltions (that's very good for me and equals my previous best!).

The year started with an ongoing build of Aoshima's Lamborghini Countach. If anyone likes Countach's I can wholeheartedly recommend the Aoshima kits - this is probably the best kit I've built to date. I finished this one just as the first lockdown started - at least the bright orange paint meant that this was one bright spot in March.

Two weeks after the lockdown started I got put on furlough. Bad for the wage packet, good for the modelling and I moved onto Revell's 2009 Dodge Challenger. Probably my fastest completion of a kit taking 'just' five weeks from start to finish. I had a few battles along the way with this, but nothing too major apart from issues with the front and rear bumpers.

Next off it was onto Belkits' Fiesta S2000. Not long after starting this one I got back to work so this one wasn't completed until August. Summary verdict on this is that it's a detailed kit, pretty good quality (especially considering it's only their second kit) but let down by the paper bits - weird blocky CAD instructions and thick decals. Overall though, it didn't come out too bad and I probably moaned more in the build thread than was justified.

Finally, a quick build which only took me 6 weeks or so in the shape of Tamiya's 'Snaploc' Porsche 961. This one was very simple being a rebuild of a kit from my youth which was showing a lot of evidence of age and sitting on a shelf being yellowed by the sun. Finding some decals on ebay duing lockdown meant I could pull it to pieces and do a complete repaint and rebuild.

Obviously I've continued building after this, but it's not looking scheduled for completion in 2020 even with Christmas being cancelled so looks like it will be one for the 2021 yearbook - in the meantime thanks for looking at 2020's set.
