ColinChipmunkfan
Each one is amazing- well built models and brilliant dioramas. The whole collection is a tribute to great skill, attention to detail and patience. I shall try to use your ideas but no way to the same level. Thanks for posting. Ghost69
Hello It's simply beautiful. Your paintings and patinas are superb, your dioramas extremely vivid. Keeping the same frame for everyone is a great idea. I think it's a flawless one. What exceptional work.

The Lysander scene was much bigger and needed lots of landscaping to fit the new parameter. A few early models had thin boards too which needed some work. Not a bad thing though as I wasn't happy with some of these scenes,so was a good excuse to rebuild them. The display cabinet I'm using benefited from taller scenes, so I gave them all a 1"thick chunky base. This is now standard. 20201219_115211 Thanks again. Much appreciate mate
Spitfire 123
These are truly amazing dioramas, each one tells its own story. What did you use for the snow on the yak 3 and the mozzie bases? Thanks for sharing, Riley

Glued on with lots of hairspray and scenic glue (tints yellow so had to airbrush some white in after). The gloppy snow is mixed with silicone gel and PVA.

My Next project is a Spitfire MkIXe and V1 flying bomb. The air crews are being given a lecture on wing tipping. The Spitfire will be partly tucked away in a hanger. Just struggling to fit everything into such a small space. Just finished the Spitfire and now working on the V1, crew and trolley. Suprastar3000
Hi Deep Sea. I found a box in my old model stash I bought years ago containing clumps of twiggy dried grass. The label had long deteriorated so no idea who made the product. I cut the very tips off with scissors as the base seemed to straight and carefully glued each stem in with a tiny drop of PVA after pre drilling uniformed holes spaced 3mm apart. Over 200 tiny grass stems drove me mad! Edited January 21, 2021 by Suprastar3000

It could work..., but if I was you, I would experiment with fine sand with a few different grades of grit mixed with Polyfilla. Thats how I did this one. KITT-1 Also, you might try replicating Marston Mat as that was commonly used. Lots of scale options replicate this but I haven't tried any yet. Good luck. I’ve got 2 Stukas and 2 Bf110s in 1/72 to make a diorama When you mix the polyfilla do you water it down make it thinner?
