When you compare the two pics how the hell can anyone be certain what the actual colours were. No wonder people argue over different shades of colour for armour i don't think anyone could ever be 100% correct 🤔

This is an early Stug III G preserved by a swamp in Russia.
It’s in the factory Tropen scheme, as the Tigers of Das Reich and GD would have been painted at Kharkov.

Well, don't forget it was in a swamp for 60 years or so :D

I'd posted it for the tonal quality of the green over the sand color.

Yeah that's it ...i wanted to see the red in the letters on the turret as there is a lot of speculation on the colour used on the African Tigers ....... i know as i said that it's not period but it might help with trying to get an idea of 142's numbers.

Well, the vehicle is pretty rare too, as it's one of the very few early Ausf G with the steep sloped fighting compartment sponson sides.

I think only Dragon make a version of these.

It's not the sand that counts, it's the way you get it :(

I'd love to go to any museum right now to see a Stug, really any  museum...

Love a good museum, particularly with a good cafe!
