I've just taken a look ..... very nice detailing, but never having dealt with zimmeritt, it looks like I'm in for a whole new challenge! 😬

Β

At least it looks like opportunity for weathering and paint effects .... positive!Β

Β

Keith 😁

The first time I did zimmerit I used too dark a wash to try and emphasise the grooves and ended up making the whole tank too dark. Keep your eyes on that but otherwise go nuts. πŸ‘

Heads up for @Jasper dog and many others. Historex has a stock of Friul Modell tracks at the moment, mostly the popular German Tigers, KTs, Panther etc at the moment. I know these are popular so hopefully they should be easier to get from now on.

I have a bunch of sets of the TRex sitting here, and I haven’t used one of them, yet :(

So far with 3D print tracks I have found the smaller ones for Pz IIIs etc are good but a tad fragile, but the larger ones have been superb. I think you'll enjoy them you'll just need something to wrap them around.

Or… you could get 3 Takom kits for 2 RFM kits :D

Β

If the Takom Tigers are anything like their Panther A, they’ll be very nice builds.Β

Holy buttered crumpets.....do I stick with the Takom plan, or RFM with the Villers- Bocage Wittman release Β£39.95 preorder at Jadlam....Β :boom:

At the current build rate....

Put it this way; if I started with Willy the B.....d (1066)Β  I'd just about be finishing any time now, presuming nothing else was purchased and my TET hadn't evaporated.Β

Anyone else fancy a HK 1/32 Lancaster....

That does look very well moulded. More realistic than Atak and Dragon's earlier versions. Good work Takom.

There looks to be some ejector pin marks on some of the track sections but not too bad, there are hollow track horns to add as well.

The main thing necessary for a Tiger build is there, a pair of buckets!Β Β :penguin::penguin:

I was looking at the articulated tracks in the RFM kits that I have... The Tiger.

Β

There has to be an easier way, than sticking each guide tooth separately to the track shoe...

The Takom kits have rows of teeth that match the placement of the track shoes on the sprue.

Β

Am I missing something with the RFM kits ??
