I managed to attend one early in the year and met up with my good modelling buddy, “ The King of 144” @nimrod54. Lets see what I built. A good start to the year, finishing these 2 on New Year’s Day A nice bit of Whiffery. My first Luftwaffe model ETPS borrows a Gripen A personalised Spitfire is always nice A massive 144 scale CSAR Lancaster Early bank holiday double BlitzBuild My favourite build of the year was “Kit you built as a kid”. I chose two Airfix Harrier GR3s, one built as I would have when I was a kid, the other using all my acquired skills. No Klear on this, no panels scribed, no filler. And now the Snow Harrier, using all the skills and raiding the spares box The Helicopter and VTOL GB & my favourite egg plane build so far. Introducing Wing Commander Badminton-Squash DFC Most Magnificent Moustache, his faithful Hound Baskerville and his one seat Harrier taxi The Huge 1/48 scale Schiebel shark drone For scale And while we are scaling things, here’s a 144 Chinook Late Bank Holiday BlitzBuild double Back in VTOL GB another 144 beast Being an RAF Veteran, I couldn’t let the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain pass without joining that GB. I wanted to build something other than a Spit or Hurricane, so chose this heavily used, only ever turret fighter My final completed build so far this year is in the Jadlam sponsored Hawk build I went full WHIFF, with Dakar Racing Hawk 314 Hope your all still awake. In view of what happened around a month later, we certainly were lucky to be able to meet up in February. If pushed to pick a favourite, it would be difficult for me to choose between the 'Incredibly Moustached' Wing Co.
