"Five Ways? Room on top!" A Brummagem horse drawn buzz in 1/32nd scale

It's 'spring time, all the pretty ring time, sweet lovers love the spring.'

Hey nonny no!

Oh pardon me I feel a bit lightheaded after my visit to the hairdresser's emporium of light headedness.

Did you know they don't even offer it back when they hack it away?

Shocking innit.

Anyway spring time, no blooming nonny nos round here I can tell you.

The first, back spring is almost there and the next pair will be excavated from the sheet together, try a little symmetry huh

The pivot holes are held together by a pair of Evergreen pegs, which I am trying rather than waste any Slater's red rod on it.

The plan is to cut out the spring and the block they sit on across the axle ends at the same time since they are dimensionally the same in scale thickness.

We'll see.

Tomorrow after I sleep on this light head of hair...

Just to prove that hand held is fine but  proper clamping is essential, Bench The Vise is in situ with a monumental task ahead.

P1010287.jpg

It is as if we have had an early snowfall around the vise, do not even look at the floor below it.

P1010288.jpg

I am getting there but it is still a vast distance between this and the finished items, I am beginning to regret making the wooden mount blocks at the same time as the springs, too late now to worry.

Still

A little further to go now but this is the bulk of the 'damage done' I did an overhead that didn't take very well look

P1010289.jpg

But you can see the pair of springs is slimmer than it looked in the 'flashy shot'.

Now then, where is that little dustpan?

Come on postimg, I have pictures to see!

Now I've got the filename and the little '?' icon.

Try opening in new tab…

No response.

I'll come back later :(

Thank you G, we do our feeble best.

Moving slowly on it is time to refine the  cut out spring blocks

The flat of a blade runs across the square edges of the moustache shape to thin it down to the more refined shape we need

This

Is much less 'there' than  this, trust me.

This is yesterdays imagery.

I am going to TRY to scribe eleven leaves into the sides of this 'tache shape, if I can't so what?

I own a very fine pencil.

Don't panic Ced, Postimg is doing it to me too.

In your thread and others.

In my thread? I’m using Flickr!

Maybe it’s another BM server problem?

Frustrating... I want to SEE springs :(

Impressive Bill. Reminds me of a volute on an ionic column. If the scribing proves a little problematic you could consider gluing lengths of 0.3mm plastic rod via Tamiya thin to replicate the leaves.?

Oh

I think it would quite suit the dark Mediterranean mien Giogio.

But no worries, I myself, me, have been known to facialise my chin and lip on mere whims.

Today I will be mostly scruffy unshaven, but not actually decorative chin styled, old man white stubble doesn't look at all dramatic.

Anyway, in my customary early morn modelling session today this happened.

P1010303.jpg

Central sloping fascia panel installed and the internal bracing added to the front footwell.

Underneath  (Feel free to imagine I uttered that imitating the moronic voice of the 'presenter' on Gogglebox...)

Underneath...

Other things stirred.

P1010302.jpg

Cross frame braces added now and the 'tache was tested for size in its eventual location.

With the understructure installed I can get on, upstairs (figuratively, 'taint time for the upper deck yet)

Looks as if we are going to have us a buzz.

  • perdu changed the title to "Five Ways? Room on top!" A Brummagem buzz in 1/32th scale

Cheers

Now for the ironworks for drawing the bus through the cobbled streets, the brackets for mounting the fifth wheel go inside the floor, courtesy of my three mm chisel

P1010309.jpg

Hmm not very clear but Giorgio can see  how versatile the hand held vise is, take off the handle and it sits quietly on the bench

Lets get in closer

P1010308.jpg

This cruciform bracket carries the loads through the floor structure for this

P1010307.jpg

I doubt if the sidewall join will be seen after filling and painting

Front springs to do next

Lovely stuff Bill, who'd a thought that there was a 'tache underneath such a contrivance?

I'm not going to ask how @CedB went blind either... just be grateful he has his sight back!

Lots of likes from me for the updates. But are you sure you're not just making 'staches for next years Christmas crackers?

Beards for crackers surely?
