perdu
three weeks and three days... I did make a sort of ultimatum t'other day didn't I? Well fortunately I can deliver, this is where the five basic elements of this build will always be. Together. Well barring tragic intercedence of the deities between then and now. All pieces of this part of the puzzle firmly affixed to the base in their final positions and the horses and the bus are now ready to visit the tack room. Later baby huh? I spent enough agonising time wondering if I would get this to this point, now to get this finished and check out my other builds for the competition table. Minor or major repairs to undertake, phew at least three weeks for that with the tack too, of course. three weeks and plenty of time...

Terry1954
Looks tremendous Bill, can't wait to see it in the flesh. Will there be some 1/32 horsey droppings trailing behind I wonder? Terry

Dave Slowbuild
As a mere assembler of kits I must prostrate myself to pay homage to this wonderful build and the master modeller who created it… Brilliant work Bill! Dave 1
Brandy
A wondrous thing to behold. I'm so looking forward to beholding it personally in 3 weeks and 3 days! Ian 1
Fritag
Proper model making that Bill. Filled with admiration I am. 1
perdu
Putting the leathern strapping for the traces under the scrutiny of the close in lens. Hm not bad, just a little under-darkening to follow through with, unless someone can point me at dark brown leather coloured paper which cuts through still dark brown inside, I will always have to paint the edges of the straps after they are in place. I wonder if someone does dark brown pastel paper? I often used coloured papers in those days when I used my pastels for other purposes, sketching still lifes or lifes for example... Might be worth a look, best check around the bay, might not though considering there's only just over three weeks to wait. S shaped hooks, migod how horrid they are to replicate with flat edged tweezers, but they were needed to make chain ends. First brake/pullback chain in place now one more for the other horse then a pair for the swingletree. Them then to be painted greyish steel and then I can invite the passengers to ascend the stairs. three weeks and one day...

perdu
I am losing it, my dexterity that is. This took all afternoon when in the past I would have allocated about an hour to it. The pair have a brace of chains which it seems are required to stop or at least slow the bus down and the front 'unicorn' horse has a pair of chains which he uses to add pulling power to the processional. Making and fixing (and finding random runaway links or hooks when it happened) took forever blimey. I just cannot stop the effects of wobble finger controlling me... Doh! Paint on the morrow.

Terry Yeah that sounds likely... Sounds. Any roadup. All aboard. No, not just Johny's grandad (Mr Bercow that is), let's have some more of you. Thought she'd be first up stairs. Driver's aboard too. Can we get someone downstairs? Ah yes, quite pretty lady if my memory serves. And Ted on his way to Ladywood for work at the foundry, just entering the saloon. Upstairs an unseemly rush for a minute or two. The conductor on his platform ready to sell you a ticket. Well it's busy but by no means close to finished, chains are in the main coloured "dirty steely coloured", although there will be copper coloured bits for a while yet, it's certain then a tiny brush will be my best friend for the next three weeks. Hoss poo on the street Terry? Decided not to, I fear it might tip the model into a diorama category, not going to enter it in there. I saw how busy that category became last year... three weeks...

I'm not sure how you could have replicated the "aroma" to fully authenticate it's presence 🤢 To echo my colleagues above, just superb. Can't wait to see it in the flesh! perdu
Well at last the driver's weatherproofing is completed. OK I mean his apron is now wrapped round him for warmth and keeping rain and snow off him, not a great 'cab' for him but wait a few years 'til he has to drive a motor bus with an open cab at higher speeds huh. His reins and whip are on the way, soon be entirely done with this one. I decided against advertising two different ciggy brands so the Wild Woodbine ad is consigned to a place in the 'bit-stash' and its place under the staircase is now taken up by an advert for CARTER'S little liver pills. No please don't ask... Apparently its authentic and it has been seen there so I am happy, you? Horses have their blinkers/blinders, what a gruesome name for them. Luckily they only stop them seeing things likely to alarm them. Hmm Can you guess how much thought was given to storage before I began this project? No, even less than that! Soon be finished, I keep telling me that. Hey, look at the time. two weeks and two, no, one day...
Pete in Lincs
Looking simply Fabulous! Blinkers? I learnt the other week that pit ponies wore a leather hood affair called a buff. Which is where we got the game blind man's buff. Something new everyday eh?
