Wait... beeswax? On pies?

I'm lost.

I love pies but not with beeswax on. When are they coming, and are we talking hot or cold?

Thank you, Ian now for the difficult decision.

Crop or uncropped, I hate the look but from the pictures of horses in the Birmingham transport system cropped is the most frequent thing.

I suppose with the horse's tails inside the traces and with swingle-trees all around it may be actually better for the horses to save them getting hurt by the tack in service.

I say that looks absolutely perfect!

Agreed 100%!  :thumbsup2:

As for crop or uncropped: I'm not sure I can contribute to that, mainly because I haven’t the faintest idea of what that means....

Animal husbandry #1 Giorgio

Horses in heavy haulage and many other uses got their tails cropped and sometimes even wrapped to keep them from being damaged in service.

Decision decided, cropped.

Paint on the morrow.

I’ve missed a few updates Bill, which is odd as I’ve been checking but as Alan says. “Wow!”

I also vote for Dapple, not as though it matters and the whole lot just looks amazing on that wooden plinth.

just.

wow! 😀

As well as stabling the horses I have been doing some of the final construction work on the buzz.

Added the splash guard to the back nearside wheel and the hand rail for passengers coming aboard to the platform area.

And the ceiling downstairs got its bell cord.

Some of the weaker paint layers need beefing up below the individual stairs too, hope I remember to get on with that.

😰

This is just about all the rear end construction finished but the driver's end hasn't really been addressed yet, his mounting steps are next in line for construction.

And the socket for his whip, mustn't forget that huh?

Swingle trees next-ish too then the horses can be harnessed ready for work.

Lovely!

Not much of a splash guard, given the amount of rain that can reasonably be expected!

Ian

I wonder if passengers were able to stand on the platform with the bus running.

Elf and safely questions were not actually high on the agenda in those days.

All the photos show just that small guard and only on that wheel.

I hope Mrs Wossername & child got out safely before the bus careered onto it's side.

Early application of 'stays' technology means she (and sprog) remain safely on her bench. (Stay put missus)

She may of course have had something technical slip between the seat frames, I remain befuddled at the technical stuff hidden amongst ladies' garments.

I can confirm that she stays aboard even when the bus turns turtle.

Enquiring minds needed to know.

It's so exciting. I'm glued to my seat. Hey, wait a minute.....

For your comfort I do hope there were no "technical additions between the seat frames" assisting in that process. That could bring tears to your eyes!
