F-20 was a development of the F-5, it used a single engine vs the two in the F-5. It was hoped to be a lightweight cheap alternative for smaller nations. However General Dynamics pushed the F-16 and the plane never moved past the three prototypes. Chuck Yeager was a big fan of the F-20 and did all he could to sell it and help the company. As @Corsairfoxfouruncle, the F-20 never got very far. (the pic is from modelingmadness, but my own review of the decals so technically that photo is mine) Despite the negative press I think the HB F-5 is a fun kit. Last count I have a few of these in the stash , four in 1/72 and three in 1/48, Mostly A's, a couple of B's and a Talon. This was my last build, the Airfix 1/72 F-5E a year or so ago: So many choices out there but I especially like the Greek and Turkish F-5's, and maybe Canadian, Dutch or Norwegian.
