Mach2 1/72 B-45A Tornado

Recommended Posts

This was a bit of a challenge and it hasn't turned out great but frankly better than expected. Interesting aeroplane though.

It used more filler than glue in places and required a lot of weight to keep it in its wheels. Sprayed in Vallejo acrylics and using a Caracal decal sheet, here it is.

Given that it's a Mach 2 kit, you're to be commended for having untaken such a project. I think the end result looks great!

Having built both Mach 2's and Valom's versions, getting any sort of good result is testament to your skills. I'd love to see the underwing to engine nacelle areas,

Very good to see it built, and a great job at that. I made a RB58 Vac-Form one many years ago [n RAF markings. Not a bit as good as your version

Here's your picture of that very model. Elliot Vac-form was it

Now, I thought the Valom kit was hard work, but I reckon Mach 2 probably trumps that. Great work and always nice to see a B-45!

The fact that your completed model even vaguely resembles a B-45C says volumes about your patience and modeling skills! A very nice model! :worthy:

I'll bet that was a challenge - the very first word in your subject line is "Mach2"! I think you did a great job taming the beast. The B-45 is underrepresented in the modelling community, and you don't see one of these often.    👍

Cheers,

Very nice work!  The B-45 was the "other" bomber featured in the 1953 film "War of the Worlds" - showing how they were stripped of armament and used as Courier Aircraft due to Commo Breakdown.   It was the Flying Wing, of course that dropped the A-Bomb in vain hopes of stopping them ....
