1/48 Tamiya P-47 352nd FG

[F-104 nut]

Hello all and long time no see. Been a while since i posted on here.  Here is the 1/48 Tamiya P-47D Razoback  "Sweetie," Lt. Col. Luther Richmond, 486th FS, 352nd FG, USAAF, 1944  . Painted with Mr color paints and decals by Bombshell. Weathered with oil washes

That's a good looking build. I like the weathering as it's not overdone and applied where it's most apt to be seen, on the bottom.

First off, that is one gorgeous razorback Jug! I do have a question: there is a slot visible on the underside of each wing right at the junction of the aileron and wing flap of your model; IIRC there is a strake fitted there on the real airplane whenever the wing pylon is not installed. IIRC, gthe 1/48 Tamiya kit provides them. See the linked discussion and photos of the strake. This is not meant in any way as a criticism of your exceptional workmanship, but something clicked when I saw the slot. (BTW, your FG-1 build was a killer!)

Mike I forgot to install those two pieces after i took the final pics. Oh well

Great looking Jug! Gotta love proper fighter-P-47s. And a Razorback in that olive drab looks really nice.

 

And seems like we use the same type of gloves..
