72modeler Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Without a doubt, one of, if not the most realistically weathered F-14's I have seen in any scale! Very impressive! Mike
fewr9fkr9595 Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Very nice mate, looks a clean build however you flipped the right tailcode. It reads HN not NH. Hard to tell exactly on my screen if they are or not but the tail caps and associated markings like the NH/lions and 100’s should all be insignia blue for this jet. Couple other minor things but without reference material to hand or pics of this exact jet then some things are open to debate or artistic license... Also, do the reskit exhausts not come with a mask or decal for the overlap areas? How did you find the canopy fit lengthwise? All of mine have been short so far and required shimming.

I think they became insignia blue on the next cruise, but were black during the 2001-2002 cruise depicted here. Same for the cruise before in 1999. Certainly looks black in this photo: https://www.airfighters.com/photo/48476/M/USA-Navy/Grumman-F-14D-Tomcat/164348/ But things like markings change all the time, so specifics can be tough to nail down. Beautiful build Dmitry! Best, Nick Edited December 1, 2020 by npirnia

Reskit set has no mask for the exhausts. This is a tricky question for a Reskit and for me. I have advocated for masks or cut on details for the dark zone. My partner and nozzle developer were against this. I hope I can convince them. Canopy in my kit without gaps. Details fit together perfectly. Edited December 3, 2020 by Dmitry Stelmakh
