Homebee
- ref. LS012 - Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet Release expected in January 2021 on the chinese market. Source: http://www.meng-model.com/en/contents/59/318.html I suppose the two seaters F/A-18F Super Hornet & EA-18G Growler are also in the Meng pipe line. Time will tell. Anyway this kit should kill a large part of the market for the future HobbyBoss 1/48th Super Hornet family (link). Quote Super Hornet, the New Choice In 1997, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter aircraft entered service with the U.S. Navy. The aircraft was developed to replace the cancelled A-12 stealth attack aircraft and the old F-14s. The Super Hornet is an evolutionary redesign of the Hornet. Its overall size has increased by 30% and its maximum take-off weight has increased by 6 tons. The numerous new designs greatly improve this aircraft’s capabilities. The U.S. Navy is about to be equipped with the more capable F/A-18E/F BLOCK III aircraft. In the new era, the Super Hornet will form the core of the U.S. Navy’s air power together with F-35. Now MENG releases this brand-new LS-012 Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet model kit licensed by The Boeing Company. The finished model will be 377.9mm long and 273.4mm wide. V.P. SharkOwl
Meng has just embarked on a good development path for several years. In addition to this operational Block II single-seater Super Hornet, we can easily predict at Meng a family including : A single-seater '' Block II '' Super Hornet from the '' Blue Angels ''; A single-seater '' Block II '' Agressor Super Hornet ; An operational two-seater Block II Super Hornet; then: A single-seater '' Block III '' Super Hornet; and A two-seater '' Block III '' Super Hornet; ... with single-screen cockpits, conformal dorsal fuel tanks, dorsal laser detectors, semi stealth armaments pod under fuselage, etc ... Recall that in addition to Kuwait, with the firsts of 28 Block IIIs currently under production, one of which single-seater already in test flight, the Super Hornet Block III has all its chances in potential export contracts to Finland (64 aircrafts), Switzerland (40 aircrafts ) and Canada (88 aircrafts). 🙂 SharkOwl
SAT69
Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but aren't the Blue Angels Super Hornets early production, i.e. Block 1 versions? Regardless, this kit looks very tempting

Homebee
Schemes Source: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=3581542925292339&id=195290177250981 Quote In the LS-012 Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet model kit, we have prepared 4 different paint schemes for aircraft from different units. The paint scheme A is for the aircraft piloted by CAPT James McCall, the commanding officer of Carrier Air Wing 8 (CAW-8). As per the practice of the U.S. Navy, the air wing commander’s aircraft often has a high visibility livery of his squadron. This aircraft is no exception and it has the high visibility livery of VFA-31 “Felix the Cat”. The paint scheme B is a low visibility livery from the same squadron. It is for the aircraft piloted by LCDR Carlisle Lustenberger. “Felix the Cat” is the fighter squadron which has the second longest history in the U.S. Navy. The squadron has flown almost all the fighters of the U.S. Navy. The paint scheme C belongs to an aircraft with low visibility livery and piloted by LCDR R. J. Prescott from VFA-87 "Golden Warriors" of the CAW-8. This squadron was established in the 1960s as an attack aircraft squadron. In the 1980s, the squadron transitioned to the F/A-18A and became a strike fighter squadron. The paint scheme D belongs to an aircraft from the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program which is more popularly known as TOPGUN. The school was established in 1969 for the air combat training of the U.S. Navy pilots. Only outstanding pilots can be selected to be trained in the school and the instructors are experts in air combats. That’s all for the paint schemes included in the LS-012 Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet kit. We will show the exterior, details and other highlights of this kit in our future updates. V.P. Muzz
Kinda looks like they’ve added the scheme from Top Gun Maverick as a decal option without realising what it is!

More likely they know it but prefer to keep quiet to avoid having to pay any right to the movie producers.. 5

DaveJL
That looks very nice indeed! Good to have the option of the early and late style ECS vents. Will definitely be picking one up.
B.sin
Looks great so far! I like the that the inner wing panels are one piece with the upper fuselage! The way the lower fuselage looks, looks like they will have the main wheel wells set up like the revel1/32nd scale kit! Nice and deep, but most likely more detail. Looking forward to seeing more, and fondling the kits plastic in my hands!
GRIM REAPER
From what I can tell from the somewhat grainy and blurry pics, this will be a nice kit! I may have to pick one up when it's available in the states.
