Another Caudron C635 Simoun! +++ Finished +++

Finishing straight for the two Heller GB Bf108's and the local club weekly build night, prompted me to get another Heller kit out and start building. Bought this in a 'new' boxing' about 20 years ago and thought why not - its a simple build again. Apologies to Jockney for copying him with the model and indeed the colours!

Box and decals - great looking 1930s Frenchness!

Definately Heller....

Two hours work - in between distractions of our Zoom meeting!

Should be a nice easy build.

Well done JP

Thank goodness people will now be able to see one being built properly, that's taken the pressure off me :phew:

Seriously delighted to see another one of these in the GB, best of luck mate and hope it behaves itself.

Cheers Pat

Built properly Pat?? Not sure about that - I don't like cockpits/cabins so they usually just get a cursery dab of paint with no add ons!

Glazed windscreen a bit wider than the fuselage? Maybe just me. Pics following. JP

Hi JP

Unless the kit has changed my windscreen came in 2 halves and was actually too narrow.  Watch out for the instrument panel which is too wide meaning big fuselage joining gaps unless its reduced.

Seriously it looks a lovely kit, fingers crossed you and I can do it justice.

Cheers Pat

Fuselage together and wings dry fixed, oh and windows masked

Pat must be my placement of the canopy but I am leaving it. I may have a go at polishing the still visible sprue marks where the canopy joins. The kit is racing on and is ready for primer.

Primer on despite me not being happy with the cockpit glazing ....

Also the side glazing panels have 'loosened' so hope they dont fall inside.......

Not my best work, but happy to crack on and finish it as part of the GB - standards dropping!

Hi JP

Looks great smart.

Try to resist picking it up on the fuselage sides by the windows that's how I ended up loosening mine, luckily I had put the canopy on.

Cheers Pat

Pat - thats exactly what I did.....

Apologies for lack of updates - Christmas preparations got in the way!

Here is where we are with a couple of minor bits n pieces to complete the model.

Its yellow.... Xtracrylix sprayed on

Prop and spinner have been painted leaving pitot tube to add and we are finished. Decals went down well - well done Heller!
