bbudde
Nice work, though I.... (what should I say to that?) .... Sorry to hear that for your neighbour and friend. It's a bit difficult to get ahead with this virus at the moment. Here it is a bit relaxed now, as mostly all are disciplined at the time. But does that work for the virus? It tries to spread everywhere as it can now. So stay safe, but please try to live your normal life as possible as you can. Otherwise you could get headaches, till your body aches and Covid say: "Thank you, dear one for your frantic added and worried health." P.S. : I have no solution for that. Cheers Benedikt
Spookytooth
Thanks @bbudde, this virus is a pain in the rear end but life goes on. My step dad use to say "Enjoy life, long time dead" which is true. Stay safe Benedikt. Simon.
mark.au
Just joining this one, great progress with the Lancaster which I’m looking forward to following along with. Sorry about your friend, I have family in the UK and it’s a torrid time there. We have it much easier at the moment, but it takes not much at all for this thing to get out of control. Stay safe.

Welcome aboard sir, we have run out of mince pies and other Xmas goodies but plenty of biscuits and crisps around. You may of noticed that I flit from one area to another, it`s my my of keeping myself going and also my bench is small so sub assemblies are a blessing. Stay safe. Spookytooth
Thanks @giemme, @HoolioPaulio, @elger, @occa, @Pete in Lincs. @CedB, @AliGauld, @Tomoshenko, @bbudde , @bigbadbadge, and @mark.au. After yesterday`s episode I managed to get going again. Seat belt time. Pilots shoulder belts first. Sorry another blurred pic. Next the Nav`s seat. Followed by the Flight engineer`s seat. Also added the support bracket too while there. And finally one of those annoying seams got some PPP. Now waiting for tea to arrive. Stay safe. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
Thanks @HoolioPaulio, @bbudde, @AliGauld, @giemme, @Pete in Lincs, @Tomoshenko, @CedB and @elger. OK folks, after spending half of yesterday trying to get stuff to fit on the pilots seat I gave up. It looked like a pile of excrement and not worthy of this fine plane. So I went to plan B, use the kit`s part and embellish it with what was salvageable from the Eduard P.E. set (the instructions were poor to say the least.) So here it is, ready for priming. Seat belts added using a strip of foil. Scratched built (trim wheels) . Bottle holder and fancy valance on the back. And seat height adjuster added as well. I feel happier with that now. All comments welcome . Simon.
giemme
The seat looks the biz to me, Simon Ciao
elger
Good recovery with the seat - still looks good! I've used dozens of Eduard detail sets and I often find their instructions confusing.

Usually a good modus operandi, the best of both worlds can be had. Sometimes a compromise is necessary - leave alone and approach with a fresh pair of eyes. The seat looks great, you've got back to enjoying the build.
Pete in Lincs
Yep, what @Tomoshenko said. A happy build is a good build.

Spookytooth
Thanks @Pete in Lincs, @cobraleader, @bbudde, @giemme, @Tomoshenko, @elger, @CedB, @Dr. Quack, @AliGauld and @rob85. Well folks a little bit more done over the last few days. U/C cleaned up and primed. Still more work needed on the nacelle. The other one is fine though. The pilots seat got some primer too. Again sorry for the blurred pic. And finally the flight engineer`s seat got a splash too. Time for brunch. Stay safe. All comments welcome. giemme
Them nacelles are putting up a bit of a fight, aren't they? But you will prevail Seats looking neat in their primer coat Ciao

But you will prevail Seats looking neat in their primer coat Ciao They sure are Giorgio, I have given them a swipe of PPP, if that fails C/A and Talc. Thanks @AliGauld and @bbudde. Right, onto some colour again, good old XF 1 this time. The front end of the cockpit got a second coat. As well as the underside and bulkheads. The U/C got some paint too. And the flight-deck was given a coat (after looking at @Tomoshenko`s Build). (Bleedin Airfix colour call outs). The insides of the nacelles were painted too. The pilots seat got a splash of interior green XF 71. The main U/C legs tops got a coat. And the ammo box for the front turret was given a splash. Coffee break next then I don`t know what. All comments welcome. Simon.
Mancunian airman
Simon A great amount of detail for such a small kit . . . . doing a good job on this 👍 Ian
AliGauld
Looking good so far. Quick question if you don't mind. How much talc do you put in the CA. I'm having some seam trouble on my Shackleton and this may be a last resort. Cheers, Alistair

Cheers, Alistair AFAIK it`s 5 parts C/A to 1 part talc according to @giemme, baking soda is another one to mix with C/A from what I have read. BTW which Shackleton are you building out of interest Airfix or Revell? Simon. 1
AliGauld
Thanks very much. It's the Revell A.E.W. 2 and it's not being helpful. Cheers, Alistair

Cheers, Alistair Alastair Have you tried mixing some sprue from the kit into a small bottle of Tamiya glue to create 'sprue glue' and run that along the seam lines of the kit ?? Just a thought Ian
