B.P. Defiant Airfix 1/72 done.

Recommended Posts

OK folks, I finally finished a model this year, Airfix`s Defiant new tooling.

A nice kit to build allowing that the tolerances are tight as to be expected.

Any mistakes are my doing not the kit`s.

Paints used were Tamiya and Mr Hobby with the primer being Alcad 2, varnish was Tamiya as well.

A/M was just a set of Montex masks and a bit of foil from a porridge pot for the seat belts.

Well here`s the pics.

A big thank you to all those who followed this build, it was very much appreciated.

Now for something bigger, 4 engines instead of 1.

Great job there - a lovely clean example of a much-maligned aircraft.  The black finish suits her well.  I must get myself a 1/48 version to go with my 1/72 one...  You may have provided the KUTA that I need!

Nice model of a forgotten fighter in a picture perfect finish. I always loved that particular Defiant N3328. An all black aircraft that features a shark mouth is really unique. It is great tribute to the night fighter crews of 151 Squadron. 👍

Nicely done.

One comment.  I think it could be a bit more matt in its finish.

There s a sheen to the model that I don't see in photgraphs of the type, in black.

But I wish I could put together a kit as well as you have done.

Hi Simon,

Excellent result with the Defiant, enjoyed the the WiP thread and encouraging me to have a go at one, too.

Kind regards,

Mark

She is not a bad kit Mark, as I said, any mistakes were my doing.
