Tamiya 1/35 Flak 36 88mm

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

This is a kit I have always wanted to build since a kid, but as a kid could never afford.  I have a friend who has just started modelling at the age of 70, this will be his second ever kit.  So I thought Ive always wanted to do it so bought one. I suggested  we could do the build together, I may be able to help if he runs into any problems (hopefully not the blind leading the blind).  He has done a cracking job so far, just waiting on paints to complete.

Tamiya 1/35 Flak 36 88mm.  OOB apart from a circular seat on the second bogie

Tamiya Acrylics

Flory washes & pigments

Tried to get a well used beaten up look for a diorama I have in mind

My friend also has the Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz 7.  Im going to suggest we do this one together as well, when I can find one at a reasonable price that is.

Thanks for looking and any comments good or bad would be much appreciated

Take care all

Si

Very nice. Brings back memories of one I built 30 odd years ago.

Thank you

Si that is superb.

Si keeps telling me he is worried about putting his work on BritMod.

Please tell him he has no worries at all. His work here is top notch.

The paint and weathering is fantastic! Just goes to show how far you can take an old kit. Ive just bought this kit as its one I always wanted as a kid in the 80s and never made an 88.Its great that your doing a buddy build with your friend.

Hi Deadeye18

Thanks for your kind comments.

It's a fantastic kit to  build, quite a lot of flash etc but considering the mold is from the early 70's, other  than that it's the usual Tamiya quality.

My friend has  the Tamiya Sdkfz 7 to go with the 88. Have suggested we do another buddy build, however I need  the kit which is available but at horrendous prices,, at the moment, anything from £70 up to £195.😱😱

Thanks again for your comments, much appreciated
