I like it ed, i reckon the  hairspray technique works really when the bottom color is close to the upper, too much contrast spoils the effect a little

Thanks Hewy, I agree, plan to do a light fading of the whitewash, I think it would look really nice on this model, but planning and doing are two different things so i will try some test pieces to see if i can get the effect i want.

A new update on my T-60, I have fixed the top part of the body and assembled the hatches, lights etc. The wheels are just attached not glued so that I can form the tracks around them later on. The engine cover will need to have hinges put in place in order that it will open and close to view the engine detail.

View showing hatches and covers removed, also showing assembled fenders which will be glued into position later on.

Last couple of views showing the view of the inside of the tank, should be ok to have a decent view of the inside here.

That's pretty much done for the body now, just need to add a grill panel at the back, fix fenders in place then add tools and tow rope etc. Next up will be the turret after I have trimmed, cleaned and assembled the tracks.

all the best, thanks for looking in...

very nice - I have this (well the one with the t-30 turret) and the Turan ATG (T-60 chassis I believe) on my Christmas list (along with a lot of other kits_ for my son to choose one... I saw the package and it looks "MiniArt sized" so who knows...

Excellent work Ed loving the way you can see the interior detail great job mate 👍 👏

Thanks Andy my friend, yes at least with this model I don't need to do any mods to show the interior like I had to on the T-55, so hopefully should be good...

cheers mate

Great progress Ed. I like the idea of working hinges. Will the latches work as well?:giggle:

Thanks Rob, you'll like one of these, it's just a nice build, not too much interior but enough to give you a taste. Looking forward to seeing what you will get...

Looking good Ed! I hadn't realised how dinky that tank was. Nice to see that you will be able to show all of your excellent detailing work on the interior when it's complete.

Wayne

Thanks Wayne, you're right It Is very much a dinky little tank, compared to some others, but It looks great and It's a nice build. It's one of the reason's why I really like Miniart as they do some really quirky and interesting models, a bit different from other manufacturers...

thanks for looking in and for your comments

Hi folks, hope you are all well and I'd like to wish you all a happy new year.

A little update to my T-60. I have now started to work on the turret parts, I have assembled the top and bottom parts together with the guns as shown.

A view of the top of the turret showing the mounted guns, i will have have the top plate removable as shown so that detail can be seen inside on the finished model. There are a few more bits to be added to the gun from the top so will do that shortly.

I have cut and trimmed the tracks which took forever, and will assemble them shortly, then start fitting the fenders and other little details such as tools and tow rope etc

thanks for looking

It's been too long Ed seeing your work come together is an absolute treat mate I love it 🙂👍

Thanks Andy, yeah not had much time of late due to work commitments and then Christmas. I’m back now so can start to crack on with this model. I’m looking forward to trying a winter white wash on this, never done one before so should be interesting.

thanks for looking in my friend, really appreciate it

Your welcome Ed. As for the whitewash the only advice I would give you is do small sections at a time rather than cover the whole tank in one go and don't rule out white oil paint 😉👍

And to you Ed.

Nice to see this progressing again.

Thanks Wayne, as you well know, miniart pack a lot of parts into their kits so progress is generally slower. The tracks took an age to trim and clean up which has held me back some what. So now that’s done i should be able to crack on with the build.

Still easier than a T-54/55!!

Looks great.

Absolutely, much easier and quicker to build than the T-55, I've really enjoyed doing this one, will definitely do more of these in the future. I fancy the TACAM version, that looks unusual  and interesting to build...

I have the TACAM Tank Destroyer version coming soon.... decided it was an unusual version (and was inspired by this build)....
