Sea Harrier FRS1 Cockpit. 1/72

Morning all.

In an effort to complete my Harrier gen 1 line up I picked Hasegawa's FRS1, I knew this was an older tooling but at £5.30 it was ideal (I like cheap modelling) but the cockpit is a one piece moulding that include the seat. I was wondering if the cockpit is similiar enough to the gr3 one to use the cmk cockpit set with seat?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks

Neil

there are a few Pavla FRS1 cockpits around but getting hard to find:

https://www.super-hobby.it/products/Sea-Harrier-FRS.1-Airfix-1743424.html

This is for the Airfix kit but can be modified to fit, I have used it on the Esci/Italeri kits very successfully.

The seat is different on the FRS1 - MB Mk10H available at Hannants:

You could use the Eduard etch (again for Airfix) available on ebay:

There are a few differences in the instrument panel layout. There are some good reference photos available on line, But you could easily modify the GR3 cockpit in 1/72 scale and get away with it.

Good luck.

Hi Neil,

I too am building the Hasegawa kit (as an Indian Navy FRS.51) and the Italeri kit (as a Royal Navy FA.2 with Maintrack conversion set) and will be using Pavla cockpits in both, as ACDC mentions.

They will both require some modifications to get the best results bit there really isn't any other options for the cockpits!  I'll be posing progress reports whenever I start the builds.

By-the-by, I am also using the Master pitot and AoA probe and they are BEAUTIFUL, a must for the FRS bird! (IMHO!)

Cheers,
