Fairey Gannet AEW.3, Sword kit Avro Shackleton MR.2 Revell kit. I have an Airfix MR.2 I plan on doing as a 205 Squadron example, like yours with the white on the wings. It's hard to believe yours is actually from the old Frog MR.3 kit (via Revell). Did you use the old Aeroclub conversion set? I'm currently writing a book on the Shackleton, and the Shacks were kept quite busy during the Konfrontasi. I also had to tweak the Revell kit decal and use some leftovers for the marking, the canopy is also slightly modified (even though not perfect). The kit did how its age but was actually quite decent and I can not recall too many glitches or misfits. The only thing I would mention was that the rivet and raised line had to be sanded a bit a they were too prominent. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Learstang Posted November 21, 2020 Share Posted November 21, 2020 I have a Frog-spawn MR.3 that I'm intending on using with the Aeroclub MR.2 conversion set. I'm sanding all the rivets off, which means the panel lines are also sanded off. Even without the panel lines, I think it looks better without the scale 3" rivets.
