Andy341
I am currently working on a diorama of a Phantom F4-C in SE Asia, I just need to know which start cart was used by USAF, if at all. Or did they use a cartridge starter? Any help would be appreciated.
Creepy Pete
Yes, they did use start carts. On F-4's, usually the type that provides lots of air to the engine. Here's one being used on an RF-4C in SEA, it's a A/M32A-60, or just "Dash 60". Videoaviation does one in 1/32. You could also use the MA-1A, CMK does that one in 1/48 and 1/72. Hasegawa also has some start carts in their ground equipment sets in 1/72 and 1/48.
iainpeden
You'll also have to find a way to reproduce the smog produced on startup!

Andy341
Seriously though, thanks for the advice. I am working in 1/48. I am using Coastal Kits base and revetments. They are worth having a look at.
Tim R-T-C
Thanks @Creepy Pete For the useful reference photo. For interest of anyone who finds this thread, there is also a nice resin model of a Dash 60 in 144th from Heroes Models https://heroesmodels.it/shop/models/1-144-m32a-60a-generator-set/
