Matilda MK II (vintage Tamiya 1:35)

Hi,

This is a 1:35 model of the Matilda MK II, British infantry tank. This is very old Tamiya KIT no. 35024 from the 70s. I made it as a movable model. The only additional parts are the Bronco plastic tracks and couple small accessories like wires at the smoke discharger and helmet, the rest is OOB.

Constructive criticism is encouraged :)

That is good. The weathering is excellent, without being OTT (especially the sand in the side chutes).

John.

Thank you both for the comments.

I don't know what does mean OTT :) Can you explain it please?

Sorry. It's a British saying meaning "over the top". And that means too much, so I was saying that the weathering was just right, without being too much. Sorry for the confusion.

That's a beautiful model - as mentioned the paint and weathering look just right and I really like all the texture effects you've got, the close ups actually do look like metal, and the whole thing looks really solid!

Great job! 👍

Excellent Matilda! I love the weathering and general wear and tear, especially the front of the turret and mantlet. I took a look at your other RFI's and they are all most impressive. It's hard to choose a favourite, but I think the Panzer III is brilliant.

Superb job!

Lovely work on the old girl. A very convincing replica of a well used machine.

Love the weathering. For a kit that old, you've done her proud.

Lovely kit and very well photographed, you sure have an eye fore detail. Another proof that you can make an excellent model out of an older kit if you know what to do. I love it.

I want to see more of this here. I like desert tanks and that Matilda is pure realism. It is difficult to add dust without losing the colors of the Camo Counter Scheme, but you got the point right.

I have a lot to learn by looking at your model.

Cheers,
Fábio.

You've made a wonderful job of that Witold,

You have captured the worn and grubby look very well.

I built the newer release a little while ago and looking at your build I'm not sure what Tamiya actually updated.

You flatter me a little Wayne :) , thanks you for that but I still believe that your Matilda (Filibuster) looks better than mine ;)

Regards

Witold

P.S. I improve my modelling skills all the time so, maybe next year I'll present something really amazing.... we'll see.
