Put the stickers on, numbnuts - Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XII - across the line

I guess I really should put the decals on this one

First 1/48 kit after returning to the hobby, second airbrush jobbie ever.
Lost the will to continue basically after lots of reading and finding out the flaws with it - but I've decided to not care a jot in the end.

 

It's been sitting on the shelf since December last year, cleaned it off a month ago and gave it a coat of Clear.

Time to pull the finger out and finish this one.

Sod the flaws. It'll still look great when finished and in your display cabinet

Or rather, non-stickers.

The kit decals were impervious to the standard Sol/Set approach, so a bit of Clear floor stuff did the trick.

 

Time to add the fiddly bits, then varnish & weathering.

I don't know enough about Spitfires to spot the flaws. Shame on me!

All I can see is a great-looking model that is heading to be a stunner.

The early Mk.XIIs were made by taking a Mk.V fuselage and sticking a Griffon on it.

The Airfix kit is a tad too deep/fat/lumpy in the fuselage according to those with a more discerning eye.
There's also a Special Hobby Mk.XII in the stash which again isn't quite perfect - so we're doomed to build fatally flawed and unbuildable kits I guess?
