Tim Moff
There seemed to be very few 'Reds' Hawks so thought I'd better partake...another standard kit in the post that I will attempt to run side by side.
Tim Moff
Got some work done, can see the tight deadline ! Goes together nicely and quickly When I think of Crab Air I feel this is appropriate (ex army 🤣)!!! something to aim for - in flight inverted air brake open! must get the Tonkas done but this arrived for a second quick Hawk build ...

Tim Moff
Decals going on. for some bizarre reason the tail decal is longer than the tail fillet (I’d read somewhere that it’s the incorrect fillet ) - come on Revell, that’s just plain mad...unless of course I’m doing something wrong !! big seam down the middle - weird as was hard to see with the red plastic - ho hum onwards nothing to see here 🤣 With the Tonka build extended by 2 weeks the Hawk GB is the one snapping at our heels ...
Tim Moff
Some X22/MLT over the top to gloss it up some detail painting and last assembly to go - no real weathering to be done given they are kept immaculately- maybe a bit of soot behind the APU exhaust on the spine .... some smoke ? just a mock up but you get the jist! maybe spray it the Oxford blue?
Tim Moff
Just sorting out the last bits. masking left a bit of residue, wiped using WD-40, seems to work! just need to put the lower antenna on and the smoke pod/pipes then it'll be done... Got moving on the RAF T1A last night as well!

nimrod54
Great stuff, Tim. I have found that if you scroll through your photos at the right speed, it makes a very good virtual air display.
