De Havilland Sea Venom 1/32

by Revell / Matchbox

Hello an Welcome to the "long time coming" RFI for my build of the De Havilland Sea Venom 1/32 by Revell or Matchbox which ever takes your fancy.

This particular one is the Revell boxing kindly sold to me for next to nothing by the very generous @rob Lyttle . I do hope that I have done her justice dear sir.

The WIP can be found HERE.

She was a blinder of a kit with lots of things to add to get her the way I wanted but the foundations were good which was all I needed.

Shes a lot bigger than I though for a 1/32, the cockpit had not much detail to speak of so pretty much all of it is scratch built.

I used:

Tamiya glue, acrylics and sprays.

Flory washes.

Lots of plastic card and wire.

and plenty of help from the wonderful BM hive mind. ( Thanks guys you know who you are )

Special thanks to Chris Sandham-Bailey for the massive amount of reference shots.

So without further ado I'll get on with the pics in no particular order taken this morning ( Friday 13th  ) in a lovely Autumnal back garden in the Mid West of England.

Get a cuppa, there are loads. :D

Wow!! Thank you everyone. It’s a real pleasure to take and share some photographs of her at last.  I’m so pleased to have tied up a whole bunch of outstanding RFIs today.
I did do a bunch in the booth but they just didn’t look right and the sun looked so buttery I had to go

out into the cold. 🧐🥶

Thank you once again for all your lovely comments.
It really means a lot. 🤗

OH...............MY...............GOODNESS!!!!!!!! :gobsmacked:  Words fail to accurately describe this impressive work of art.  I absolutely love the attention to detail and supreme skill level required to pull this off.

I am not worthy :worthy:

Wow, that is a great finish on the Sea Venom. I built this about 40 years ago and it definitely did not look as good as this.

Very nice detail in the cockpit.

Hi Johnny, now I've seen this I'm saddened I didn't keep up with the WIP, life being just bloody awkward at times. On the basis that the proof of the pudding is in the eating though, you've served a most sumptuous desert. The detail in the cockpit & engine bay, plus the quality of the overall finish is out standing in the extreme. Thanks for sharing it. :)
