Kevin Aris
lovely build, and i have just reread your log what i do like very much, is the way that @Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies made a comment, and reasons given wrt paint scheme, if all comments about builds were like that, we would all be happier modellers, i appreciate you took his comments and changed your colour scheme, as a result you have something to be even prouder off, well done Edited April 13, 2021 by Kevin Aris

The lighter Scheme was annoying me and is more suited to modern ships hence the question in the first place. I prefer to be put right at the onset rather than having it all painted up and then told! George Norman
Good Morning, Work in the dockyard continues with some massive step taken, all the wiring is complete internally for the lights in the hull , Superstructure, mice little Prewired LED were installed. Also work on installing a Bright LED into the Search light and this was completed and tested as well as a Reed switch operated by the transmitter, its not latching so I used the off option with the on happening at the flick of a lever on the tranny. At the rear of the light Silver foil at the back was glued on to give a Mirror appearance. ( know I show it back to front and this has changed since the photo! And finally I plucked up the courage and decided to stick the deck on used copious amounts of wood glue so the next step will be to probably paint the hull and then to the Deck Armour plating. Flying along here! George Norman
Good Afternoon, Well that went well except I glued a LED wire under the Deck and a cross beam but that sorted now and the little Light rewired and the LED working under the Bow which will look nice on Sailing a dusk which I have never done! I then soldered up some White metal and Brass rod for the voice pipes for the Bridge and started on the Binnacle using some 9mm dowl and coffer sticks sanded smooth! Needs to be Paint next. The Bow plate was also glued down with PVA and Left to Dry and then the edges were filled in with P39 Car Filler and then sanded smooth, Well the front part anyhow. I need to adjust one of the tall air intake pipes and one seemed to of moved and has set slightly off which is a balls but thems the breaks! First was the construct the Gallows, These are white metal castings and are a tad rough, The first too went together nice enough using low temp solder in the end but you can see some casting are way out! IMG_7245 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr IMG_7247 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr The boat deck and legs were completed and this is not glued on place just yet. IMG_7246 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr The Anchor Whinch also soldered up, nice little Model in itself, Dont worry weathering to be done yet. IMG_7242 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr these Little Beauties came in the door earlier and they will replace the blobby white metal parts that have seen better days IMG_7257 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr

George Norman
Hello Everyone, Hope you are enjoying this sunny weekend, A quick post before I head to the Sea for a spot of Kayaking. A few more hours spent yesterday in joyful solitude in the shed with some CD's banging away. Major surgery with a repositioning of the engine room vent pipes, Despite going off the plans the location measured was not correct and they had to be move up and over a tad. you can see the original position in the photos. Wheel house deck is now in place too. Hours spent with little to show! The Ladders were also attached and the handrails soldered up to the main rails. All good fun! after all that work decided to treat myself to a can. Hole opened up with Dremel and suitable boring bits. IMG_7260 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr Tamiya tape of the hole from underneath P38 filler was forced in/ IMG_7261 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr And the end result. IMG_7262 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr Now I could fit the steps and glue the wheel house floor down. IMG_7263 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr Fit ladder to go in and hadrails soldered up. Well Please with the outcome IMG_7265 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr IMG_7266 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr Port side also in now IMG_7267 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr You can clearly see how much I had to move these the original position. I will use it extensively when I'll build 1/350 model! 3 hours ago, George Norman said: Hello Everyone, Hope you are enjoying this sunny weekend, A quick post before I head to the Sea for a spot of Kayaking. It's totally understandable. Priority is obvious: Kaykaing first 😉 ! I love rather canoeing (with wife and7 years son), however it would be very nice to see a few your kayaking photos, if you have these... Best regards, Michał. George Norman
Here are a few from last year on the river blackwater, 3 miles from my house in Cork. Going off topic but what the hell. The Castle shown is the Duke Of Devonshire's Gaf, the Richest man in England, there are lots of Rich Brits along this river, Trusthouse Fortes Daughter owns another castle further down. He apparently owns the river bed from Fermoy to Youghal where it hits the sea. You could no make this crap up TBH, Local Fisherman have to tow the line when the toffs arrive from the UK like Prince Charles etc if they want to fish and I though and they are told to keep away Most of that kinda of crap was gone in 1922. On the plus side there have been lots of benefits of the rich there to the town with some lovely buildings. https://www.lismorecastle.com/ 117624546_1024701251298392_193136647891084663_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr 117302605_1024700011298516_2576112341561744396_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr117337297_1024698061298711_1438525559489863187_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr117444547_1024697877965396_3617793510332957772_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr 117444547_1024697877965396_3617793510332957772_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr 117302050_1024701947964989_4539340284640508_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr 117285600_1024702234631627_5542642731118939007_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr117335865_1024702617964922_3189026854657362265_n by Georgeconna32, on Flickr 4

George Norman
ving Along nicely and one of the most eagerly awaited jobs, The Armour Deck Plating. 2 Sheets of A4 paper were provided in the kit, Yeah right that will cover the hole thing plus on top of it I made a balls of two attempts do lay the Plates so had to order a pack of 50 sheet. Just trying to get a suitable Rivet head was problematic, Tried a Dart, Drill bit, Grinding bit, some other bits in bobs but nothing great, In the end I round off a 2mm brass rod and put into a pin vice and pressed each one in to each plate, marking out 5mm per rivet and 2mm in from the edge. A long process. Plate are glued with PVA watered down, What ya think? Also had to solder up a short shot cleat with some smaller brass rod onto this davit., The Shiny bit are Telescopic Aerial cut up, looks quite nice IMG_7280 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr IMG_7279rd by Georgeconna32, on Flickr IMG_7278 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr IMG_7277 by Georgeconna32, on Flickr
