George Norman 402
Hi Lads, I built one of these in the VF-31 Scheme and sold it regretfully so dug out a second one a few months back and this is how it turned out. Humbrol Paints, Worms for the camo, Cant Remember who I got the Decals from, certainly different to the usual USN Jobbies. It aint not shake a bake Tamiya but only cost about 16 notes so happy with that. 587_8701 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8700 by Georgeconna, on Flickr 586_8693 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8692 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8691 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8689 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8688 by Georgeconna, on Flickr586_8687 by Georgeconna, on Flickr 48
Kentavros76 184
It looks so real that it could fly off that table for a mission somewhere over the border with Iraq...

Deano353 674
I made this exact kit and scheme IIAF as well. Mine is wheels up. You did a very nice job, and for the price you can't beat it considering it's recessed lines and can turn out nicely like this one. Great job!

Orion 1,157
Hello george, What a splendid color scheme. To be very honest, constructed I can not see the difference between the costly Tamiya /Italeri or Academy. You did a great job on this only export country flying the Tomcat. Regards, Orion

Kind regards, Joachim Absolutely excellent build. Love the old Asia-Minor camo. Saw exactly that BuNo / Serial in feb. 2019 at Mehrabat overhaul fascility, albeit in blue grey IRIAF camo. Apparently she is due to get out of overhaul / pot. AM-upgrade around 2022. Oh and as the question arose: Yes, they do still fly them. My last count was at least 57 serials active as documented by images and clips dating between 2002 and 2020. The last serial that is known to hve left the overhaul fascilities was 3-6050 in Feb. 2020. They would have had at least 59 active serials but lost one in jan. 2012 due to friendly fire from a IRGC Tor M1 and lost another one upon landing in Isfahan last May due to assymetric engine failure. So yes, they do still fly.
Tiger331 1,530
Just goes to show that you do not necessarily need a rather costly state-of-the-art kit to produce a really nice model. I do like the rather subtle weathering on this one too. Well Done, Sir !
Lightningboy2000 1,567
Superb paint work! It has a perfect sand blasted & faded look, just like the real aircraft. I think they've still got a couple flying haven't they? Martin
