Totally Mad Olivier
Dear Manu, Seeing your incredible work (1/6, what a scale!), especially the figure, recalls me inevitably my 806 build. I really wonder how you could get such an amazingly realistic face. Can you explain us how you did that? it is just magic for me. Do you intend to apply a kind of weathering on your engine? Cheers, Olivier

Ghost69
Hello guys A small precision, I often remake parts because I make mistakes but also because I have a better mastery of my tools, for example the metal lathe I got at the beginning of the year (I didn't know how to use it)... but I also want to move my car forward because for me it is a first experience and I would like to make another one but with a different approach. I will never be able to do everything over again in my Fiat, so at some point I have to validate my work and move forward. I don't want to get discouraged and let it go on for too long. The screws will be ordered this week (thanks Dan for the addresses). Oops, I'll come back to talk about my figurine to answer your questions...but I don't want to talk too much about it for the moment because I have a surprise in store for you, at least I hope so. Making my aluminium and piano wire grille. I had made a flat grille...so I rebuilt it so that it is curved like the original. Not easy because the piano wire remains elastic and in the end, the frame of my grille was deformed. So I had to bend the piano wire so that it would take the shape so as not to deform the frame. Thanks Edited December 25, 2020 by Ghost69
Hannes
The hole for the crank is not central situated! It´s on the right side and connected to the frame. These details are important for a realistic model and I hope that my advice will help to improve your otherwise beautiful work.
Ghost69
I very much appreciate the comments. On the domed grille, I had corrected and placed the hole on the side. Indeed it doesn't touch the frame but it's too late, my radiator is finished and fully welded...considering its size at 1/6, the work was huge and sorry I won't do it again. Ghost69
Thank you Dan and Pascal. I received the screws and bolts, so I dismantled the chassis and engine (I took the opportunity to paint it in a darker colour). Some pictures concerning the oil radiator manufacturing. The welding is done outside, I like this colour difference between copper and tin. The pipe is made of brass but it is not possible to bend it properly even when filling it and heating it...so I made it in pvc (not visible on the pictures) Edited December 25, 2020 by Ghost69

Ghost69
Dan, you were absolutely right and the worst part is that I could see that what I was doing didn't exist. I have no regrets at all for having undone and redone it all. Now every time I place a nut I think of Dan, ah ah ah 🤣 Edited December 25, 2020 by Ghost69
Ghost69
Hello I had fun making a fluted nut with its fake pin. Why amused...because it's so small that it's not certain that spectators will see it. Once in place the illusion is perfect, isn't it?
