With presence of Boeing 707 in 1/72 for years (Heller) there was a massive lack of his main competitor, the DC 8. There is a nice range of boxes shown but still there is no 'Super DC-8 (series 61,63)" - so likely the place for aftermarket conversions. So torn! i really agree on this. Having seen the VC10's Nose, i am surprised it is possible to mismatch a shape so much, especially in this scale. Unless something changes significantly at Mach2, i expect a whole lot of wasted plastic. I believe someone is/was producing a new cockpit clear part (with the roof molded as an integral whole) for the Aurora DC-9, since reissued. Don't both aircraft have this structure in common? That would help. If the window line is crazy, then it's all about decals. But if the wings, tail, and tail feathers are nuts, then... The Transport Wings -50 kit comes with resin JT3D engine nacelles. Do you suppose they'd sell them separately to correct Mach 2's offerings, assuming the engines are a mess? LN-KEH Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 The Mach 2 kits I have worked on have been OK for the large parts and poor on transparencies and small parts. If someone is willing to make an upgrade set with cockpit transparencies and possibly undercarriage and engine parts, then I am in the maket for the SAS version and possibly for a later release of the longer DC8-63. I wish I would've got the AIM kit but it was to expensive at the time. With all the horror stories I hear of Mach 2s, I'm a bit cautious. It is possible to put lipstick on a pig though.
