that's looking incredible Johnny.  The rotor head looks like it will be fantastic once painted up and greebled.

Fingers crossed. I have done some work on these but it’ll be next time for pics.

The exhaust cowl actually looks like cast iron, I would expect it to be cold to the touch.

Altogether an amazing build.

Good evening. Work has really shifted up a gear meaning less time for other things. 😲 but some progress has been made over the weekend.
I’m getting to that point where I know what needs doing but not sure what to tackle so I took stock and just started finishing things.

Before the wheels went on I wanted to dry brush them and get some brake lines on. So out with the lead wire.

51013477496_d8161e9d9d_b.jpg

Then on with the wheels.

51013477911_a9d4fb3315_b.jpg

To make them settle correctly I sat her up on her pins!

51012754253_914c739bfa_b.jpg

Went pretty well. 🤩

Next up I glued on the rear fins.

51012754218_9abaac3cb8_b.jpg

All the hatches got a flory wash then given a matt coat.

51012754528_b76291e29d_b.jpg

I did some work on the gear head but really wanted to get on with the load out. I have decided to go with a fuel tank the rocket pod and the double tube things on the tips. I have a pic of this so Although it’s not in the instructions I’m running with it because I think it looks cool.🙂

51013566117_4f4b2069c4_b.jpg

The moulding on these is great but they still need to be drilled.

51013477476_2551dbc52e_b.jpg

And here looking a lot more like it.

51013477491_fe624c30c1_b.jpg

The rear was also drilled. I’ve seen the tube things on the end open and capped so I’m having them open.

(But I didn’t take a pic😩)

I did say I was running at it right? So actuators painted and washed which meant hatches. Soooo  rear UC doors.

51012754573_7447866f2f_b.jpg

Actuator glued to the upper door and windows unmasked.

51012754233_1b4b39e1fe_b.jpg

And glued in place.

51013477571_1998675e5a_b.jpg

Zooming in I keep finding hairs on this thing. I’ll have to have a good pick over next bench visit. 🐰

I ran out of time so she sits here until next time.

51012754553_14f0d8d82d_b.jpg

Definitely moving in the right direction.
Thanks for looking in.

Happy Modelling kids.

Hope you’re having a splendid weekend.

Wow! It’s going to be one of those models where you can’t work out how to pick it up, so many sticky-out bits (*). Let’s hope the aerials are kind to you and don’t run double wires all the way around it...

Regards,

Adrian

(*) all immaculately Floried, of course!

These tubes are the 9M114 missile (AT-6 Spiral) launchers - actually, very Hind-ish things.

Excellent progress on these bits, Johnny! 👏 Do you have an electric drill or you’ve drilled all these 80 holes manually?! 🤪

Great work on the rivets Johnny, they really add a lot. Sort of wishing now that I had added some to my Hind...we will see how the HGW ones perform on my Havoc!

They do add a lot. That’s for sure. Good luck with the HG ones.

Hey guys. Hope you have all had a great week. Although it’s been a busy old time at work I have managed a little on the larger of my two hinds. 🥳🍑

The engine hatches got glued in place with their actuators added.

51028811128_37a2bc71d8_b.jpg

looks rather natty all in place. ❤️
I’m putting this down to our friend @hendie and his love of all things marmite. 🙊

51029866887_b09f23f634_b.jpg

A yeasty boost indeed!
So with a belly full of goodness I tackled the rotor wires. (Lead)

51029634962_230a3802b2_b.jpg

I’ll attach the other ends when it’s all assembled. The tail rotor also got some attention.

51029767356_a816556366_b.jpg

Another motley bunch of assorted items to prime!

51029536736_d675fdb894_b.jpg

Pssssssst!

51029866902_d660ffb80d_b.jpg

That’s better. 😀 The rotors look good.

51029536676_9859f61e44_b.jpg

and the rear.

51029536696_96172b8c1e_b.jpg

They say silver in the paint call out but I’ve seen them painted frame grey/blue so I’m doing that so I can add a pre shade and be damned. 🙀

Talking of pre shade we got tanks.

51029866852_88f6c55511_b.jpg

Rockety things in tubes.

51028810978_3af063481b_b.jpg

Lady bird hotels. 🐞 (I can’t not see that now) 🤣

51029767321_3fd18e092c_b.jpg

Aaand of course rotors.

51029866862_4cffedf744_b.jpg

This is going to look lovely in a top coat.

51029536646_e5878fd7ae_b.jpg

BIG innit. 🙀

51029536651_ecc816af27_b.jpg

thanks for popping in. Gotta scoot, dinner bell.

Those engines look spectacular with all the wiring/piping in them.  It looks so real!  I'm also really impressed with the rotors.  I just ordered some lead wire 2 or 3 days ago because I finally figured out that's what folks were using on landing gears and things.  Seeing how you used it on the rotors makes me glad I bought some! :D
