fjaweijfopi4j48
In a feat that redefines brilliancy, I forgot that I painted the model white to mask the area where the race number goes before repainting in red, and just airbrushed red everywhere. I also forgot to paint and mask the radiator before applying the red color, but heck, what are a few blunders between modelers? At least I remembered to paint the tail group a different color. And yes, I also forgot to paint the upper wing: 5

fjaweijfopi4j48
Paying for my sin of having forgotten to mask the white, I am applying 12 carefully measured and cut white decals. As most white decals and decal paper are a bit translucent, a double layer is needed. You see here the first set on the model and the second on the rim of the glass jar. I was able to mask the fuselage and paint the radiator too:

fjaweijfopi4j48
And after the two layers of white, a third with the race number. Adjacent to the technical pencil you can see part of the tail group, which has received two of its three "tricolore" bands:  Not too far now:   32 minutes ago, AdrianMF said: Nice double decal disaster recovery!  Regards, Adrian  Yeap, that was a "Phew!" one. fjaweijfopi4j48
Tail struts and exhausts added. The windscreen is in the making -the shape is a bit unusual- (almost invisible at the tip of the tweezers), as it is not provided in the kit:

fjaweijfopi4j48
The top wing is glued in position, and the labor of measuring, cutting, adjusting and gluing the struts begins: Â All struts are in place, the rest of the parts are waiting for the rigging:

Hey, what about the SARO Windhover? And the Dornier DOX when still had that puny wing spanning the 12 engine gondolas row? Not the first (or the last) plane with an umbrella incorporated! Nah, come now, that SARO has indeed a weird top bracing of the engines slightly reminding of a small wing, but still no question of up or down. The Do X, what with it? In my book it's just a sound and sensible approach to getting the power needed. 😎 4 minutes ago, Moa said: My poor eyes! 😄 Good eye training. 😎
