I agree, Keith, if only based on this example for now. It's quite workable, especially considering it's from 1989! I shall take out from the Hidden Hoard the other ones I believe I have and give them a closer look.
fjaweijfopi4j48
The divots for the former location of the struts were filled and sanded, but now the rib detail has to be restored. Two pieces of tape and later on putty are applied, then sanded down. The joint at the center of the wing panels is treated the same way: The strut fairings (a bit of sanding down seems to be needed) on the wings, and some fuselage structure:
fjaweijfopi4j48
What? no toilet in this racer? Unbelievable! Then a seat it is: Control horns were only present in the rudder. The elevator had internal ones. The position of the tail struts is drilled: The interior detailing is progressing:

fjaweijfopi4j48
Continuing with the conversation regarding Pegasus kits, I finally found two that were in the dungeons. I bought them with the intention of course to convert them to civil versions. The Tutor is, as you can see, a very nice kit, especially considering its age (it was released in the 80's). Some possible schemes: http://www.na3t.org/air/photo/AB01154 https://www.aviationphotocompany.com/p729893148/h181D3A30#h181d3a30 Contents: Very nice detail, better actually that many kits released much later in time: White metal parts: But the Junkers D-1 was a bit of a disappointment. I wanted to convert it to a Junkers J-10, a post-war civil version, which is, as I quickly realized, not really possible from a practical point of view: We can see that in spite of valiant efforts, the surface is not really good: Trailing edge too thick -can't be corrected as the wing is one piece and sanding would erase the corrugations: Leading edge messy, undefined and very difficult to correct: So it is one win and one lose, but I am glad I bought the Tutor, as I found some gorgeous civil variants of it on the Net. Besides, Matías Hagen from Argentina is giving the finishing touches at his spectacular, extremely well detailed and well-cast 1/72 kits of the Tutor successors, the Avro 631 and 643. The standards of these kits are the highest, as it is the case with Matías kits. https://www.facebook.com/72topiaScaleModelKits/?ref=page_internal
