I bought them as well, but then sold my entire kit collection and used the funds to pay for a flight in a Hawker Hurricane! I kept the decals though. Not yet, waiting on an F-4 GB, there is bound to be one along soon. that said, a bit of a balancing act, do I commit them to a GB with inevitable time & performance pressures but at least use them or keep them for a more relaxed & more careful build that might never happen. I think I just answered my own question. I've also bought the Modelmaker Hellenic F-16 decals, I do like those schemes. Sell all my kits for a Hurricane ride? If I had the option, in a heart beat. Steve. Whatever you decide to do with those decals Steve, I look forward to seeing your Greek Phantom! I was browsing my Andravida photo book yesterday and drooled over some of the F-16s as they look so good in the dirty Greek camouflage! I still don't regret selling my kits to fly in Hurricane BE505 from Biggin Hill, all thanks to my wife suggesting it! I created a photo book with a collection of photos from my wife, Mum and two friends who flew alongside in an Airvan and also made a multi-aperture frame which now proudly hangs in my cloakroom so that I can re-live the experience every day!

I recall your post on this on thinking what a superb opportunity. An opportunity looking increasingly remote in our crazy world, even if I could afford it. Santomeri is located on the northern end of Mount Skollis, 5 km north of Portes, 18 km south of Kato Achaia and 32 km southwest of Patras and approximately 40km east of Andravida by road. 21 minutes ago, RidgeRunner said: They look so good like that, dont they They certainly do!
RidgeRunner
Thanks mate. I'm unlikely to ever get out there again but, who knows, the world changes constantly! ;). I have great memories of the week around there, especially at Araxos, watching F-104s constantly in the circuit . I remember my mates and I hiding in an old orchard building at the end of the runway. Things were definetly dodgey out there then and any spotting would have resulted in a jail term, I'm sure. Martin

Those are some grubby looking Rhinos! I think I'll have to get some decals from the LHS in Athens and save them for the upcoming Phantom GB... Are they RF-4E?

I'm no Phantom expert, but I recall from the local enthusiasts that we met that they are F-4Es that have been through the Avionic Upgrade Programme, also known as Peace Icarus I and II. (I could be wrong, though and am happy to be corrected!) I look forward to your GB entry! 25 minutes ago, exdraken said: Oh yeah! Can it get any better? Would have loved to be there! Do you know? I really don't think it could have got any better! It was so exhilarating and I felt so disappointed when the last jet disappeared from the valley for the final time!
