davecov
My late father left me a bit of money in December 2019 and I've been on a spending spree this getting the models that I remember him making with me in the Sixties. I decided to start with cars and motorbikes but I extended my ambitions to buying every Airfix 1/32 car and truck kit and every Airfix 1/16 motorbike kits although I will be happy getting other manufacturer's boxings of Airfix kits (such as MPC) where necessary. Having looked at the History of Airfix Kits section, I have restricted my wants by excluding the Kansas Kruiser, Krackle Kat and Night Prowler kits nor will I be buying Snap-fix kits (Ford Escort, Porsche 935, Supercharged Dragster). Here are some of my acquisitions in 2020. Mancunian airman
Thats quite a collection Dave, I never realised that Airfix had so many on their books . . . I had a C15 motor bike in my youth and an Austin Maxi so I would be interested in purchasing those I suppose but having looked previously they seem to be both difficult to come by and expensive. I wish you luck in your endeavour to build your collection of vehicles . .

davecov
Taking into account my exceptions (Kansas Kruiser, Krackle Kat and Night Prowler kits, Snap-fix kits (Ford Escort, Porsche 935, Supercharged Dragster) and the other Ford Truck), there are a total of 58 different kits in my quest. In January 2020 I had only 5 unbuilt and 8 built kits but I have been buying furiously this year and now I have every one of them either built (14) or in my stash. The slow process of building them all is well underway! Dave

davecov
Thanks, Pete. I managed to get the Maxi for about £80 and my two most expensive purchases were the Morris Marina and the Ford Tractor and Trailer which were £140 each. CliffB
You're doing a great job there Dave Like you, I've been hoovering up Airfix vehicles this summer (although limiting my acquisitions to British marques). We may have been competing on eBay! I've two quick questions please: Is there a reason for your multiple copies of some subjects? Have you ever seen the Airfix Hillman Hunter kit? I've got that Ital shell too (plus spare Escorts!), plus a couple of other resin shells. The trouble is, there are just too many shells out there when you start down that route - it's almost limitless . Cheers 1

Billy54
A a kid (I'm 70 now) I built some of the kits you have listed, the Zodiac, Sunbeam Rapier, Cortina and Mk 1 Sprite come to mind. Because the Mk1 Sprite was the first car I owned (1967 time frame) I attempted to acquire an Airfix Mk1 Sprite but couldn't find one at the time and if I could have probably wouldn't have paid the asking price. I ended up getting the 1/24 Gunze Sangyo Sprite and yes it's still unbuilt on the shelf.

A pity, because I was hoping to build it in the French Fancy GB. I'll just have to build the De Dietrich instead
pemodeller
Hi Dave, You really have a nice collection of Airfix cars. I have also collected a few of these cars buying them off ebay and then there is the cost of getting them sent to Singapore where I live. Some of them are just too expensive for me. Can you show us the build log of your models? Thanks
