Troffa
I recently stumbled across 1950 film "The Flying Missile" starring Glen Ford on YouTube (GB)- It's the entire movie, and has some very interesting scenes featuring the 'Loon' Missile, which was the US Copy of the German V1 flying bomb. Also seen is a seemingly remote piloted Grumman Hellcat (No idea if this was an actual system, but it looks pretty pukka to me) and some Grumman Avengers make an appearance at the finale. I've skipped through it avoiding some of the distinctly Hollywood romance sequences 🙂 It's quite a record of those days- I wont link to it, and I have no clue if it will hang around for long online, but I thought I'd mention it. Happy viewing!
Creepy Pete
There were indeed remotely piloted F6F's. They were used for all kind of things, like flying near atomic bomb explosions, and some were even used as flying bombs in the Korean war. Alleycat has a nice sheet for some of these F6F-5K's https://www.alleycatmodels.co.uk/post-war-test-f6f-5k-hellcats-4239-p.asp

Troffa
Thanks very much for the heads-up, John, especially the X-15 movie, I had no idea it existed, let alone with Charlie Bronson as lead! I will get it on a big screen, the colour looks great.
