Hasn’t Academy announced one as well?   B-52’s coming along like buses.

 Probably the same tooling?

That looks very nice. I'm going out on a limb and hoping they produce some of the early model natural metal B-52s as well.

Looking at the parts, I would think it likely.  It looks like the FLIR and LLTV are on a separate panel on the nose and there is a separate tail.  These could have a plain panel and tall tail for the early models.

Looks very good!

That looks tempting.

I hope they do a boxing for late SAC era H models.

I took a base tour of Fairchild in 1987. If I could get a BUFF kit with a markings option for the camo they had and that seahawk tail art the Fairchild BUFFs and KC-135s had in that time frame, I'd be a happy camper.

I am really looking forward to this!! I am Nigel from "Nigels modelling bench" on You Tube and as some of you will know, I am going crazy looking at B-52's and making corrections for them.

Just one point on this kit... the FLIP panel is a separate part.. I hope they dont intend to give us a flat panel and shorter nose for an Early G/H option? The slope under the nose is steeper on an early bird.

Edit...

Perhaps they did it that way to get the detail on the inner faces of the pods? I see also they have moulded the screen ala Revell and Modelcollect.. I wish the manuafcturers would all go down the AMT/Italeri route. makes it so much easier to get a sharp line around those hatch windows up top.

Edit..2

It looks like they may have scaled down a modelcollect kit as they have the incorrect wheel bay roofs. They have done the same as MC and used forward bay detail in both bays.

As far as I heard there will be G and H, but no D or F(my favorite, pity).

GWH 144 kits are mostly collaborate with their Japanese agent Pit-Road, which means most cases Pit-Road chose what to do and participate in the design work.

I have played T1 parts of this kit and fitting was as good as always(cannot say accuracy since not a B-52 guy), especially it was quite impressive to get wing landing gears all stand on ground without any adjustment on wings.

It will start selling on 11th Nov to meet the Chinese annual online shopping festival, and domestic retail price if I remember correctly is around USD20-25.-

Hopefully its not out of my $ range and hoping to see a D/E as those are my favorites.

I'd like to see an A and a B/RB-52B. And it'd be a treat to see the XB-52 as well. I'm in favor of the D/E as well because with a decal change I could make a B-52C.

I will get this one. I prepare to open engine fan air exit and probably close all blow-in doors. While GWH made this area solid the kit looks much improved over Revell kit such as better windshield framing, more modern weapon loadout and proper antenna fit. I have no idea why they did not include GBU-31 instead of GBU-24. Overall shape looks ok. Also panel lines are very fine and not overdone.

Flew in a CAF C-130 to Fairchild around that time, I couldn’t believe how many B-52s we taxied by going to our parking spot. Same goes for KC-135s, C-141s, and C-130s. Loved that tail art.

The day my tour group was there, it was mostly B-52s, KC-135s and T-37s out and about, though a KC-10 did stop in while we were there. I think the T-37s were the only thing there that could compete with the B-52 for making a racket.

Nice to see a new 52 in a scale manageable for those with limited space.Been nice if they did a series of 52s including the bigg belly fellas.I remember getting 4 of the Amt kits in 72nd when they first came out and managed to get a great decal sheet that ive never seen since. If my memory is correct it had bases included like K.I sawyer,Carswell,Grand forks etc.

Cheers guys.

Just got the kit in my hands from Lucky Model.  Very nice detail, and it looks like they got the vast majority of the antennas and lumps and bumps included.  Packaging is nice too with a cardboard “shield” protecting the antennas molded on the rear fuselage half.  Main “nits” that I see are the engine bypass outlet at the rear of the fan section is molded solid, no representation of the flare dispensers on the horizontal tails, and the round GPS antenna in top of the fuselage is too large in diameter and too tall.  Also surprised that they included all of the seats, including on the lower flight deck (which are totally invisible), but didn’t include an IP decal.  A SNIPER pod option would also have been nice as you only get the LITENING pod.  The inclusion of AGM-129s is interesting as they were retired in 2008, while the decal schemes are 2016 and 2017.  Overall looks like a very nice kit, and a step up on the old Revell kit.  If/when Academy releases their kit, it will be interested if to compare the two, especially if it’s the same quality as their B-1B.
