Lets get WHIFFY,

The Dakar was opened up to Hawk aircraft, with restrictions on maximum height flown and fuel carried. Timing gates are positioned along the routes which must be flown through below 50ft, certain parts of routes must be flown at specified speeds. Fuelling airfields are scattered throughout the routes, go fast, land many times, be economical fly further.

Ex Royal Air Force Hawks were sourced from the MOD for the competitors. All aircraft need to carry a baggage pod on one wing with servicing kit and basic spares, the other wing has a standard Yellow Dakar  Rescue pod carrying survival equipment in case of emergencies. These are jettisoned when the ejector seats are initiated. A last minute AAR directive requires all a/c to fit a refuelling probe. Use of the emergency tanker will incur time penalties.

I opened up the battery bay at the front and scratch built some interior detail, a refuelling probe was taken from a Revell Tornado. Painted with rattle cans, including Tamiya Pink primer, Orange, Tyrell Blue and Aircraft Silver.

This is Racing Hawk 314

Little H’s Halloween Hawk.

My 10 year old daughter Little H, has built this all by herself, the only thing I have done is to post the pictures.

She decided not to paint the Hawk as it looks more spooky this way.

Little H wants to thank @thepureness & @JadlamRacingModels (Russ) for allowing her to join in, and to everyone who supported and commented along the way.

Here's mine--the 19 Sq. Spitfire 70th Anniversary bird...I used some of the Revell stencils but the Anniversary decals are from the Italeri kit, as are the landing gear.  You can find out about the second thing here:

Mostly Vallejo Air paint, accept for a few 'aftermarket' (see above) pieces, OOB.  The cleanest aircraft I have ever built.  None of the photos I have seen show even a speck of dust, so I left it that way. I apologize for the greenish cast to the images.    I'll see if I can fix those.

Here is my somewhat comical and highly impractical whif.  DHL's new 2 hour shipping option, for those modellers who absolutely cannot wait any longer than 2 hours to receive their kit, smell that new box smell, then stick it in the stash and ignore it for 12 months :D

Lets just ignore the impracticality of needing to live on or very near a road long and straight enough for a Hawk to land and take off, and ignore the fact that only one delivery per Hawk would work and most certainly cost tens of thousands in shipping fees etc.

So here it is, about to take off with my next purchase in the rear seat.

B.Ae. Hawk T.1, XX163,

No. 4 FTS/CFS RAF Valley

Solo Hawk Display Aircraft, 1992

Here is my entry for this Jadlam sponsored group build. It was painted using Signal Red and Roundel Blue from Hataka's Orange Line range of paints. The decals are from a Model Decal sheet Set No 116 and replaced the kit pitot with a Master brass part. I also swapped the misshaped nose light for a Little Cars (now Modelling Tools) lens. Hawk XX163 was one of two aircraft used for the Valley Solo Display in 1992.

Built straight from the box, apart from Xtradecal decals and a Master pitot.  The build thread is here, if you would like to see more.

Hawk T.1 Of the Jolly Roger VFA Squadron US Navy. WIF

Background - In 2017 the US Navy leased an RAF T.1a Hawk to mark up in the Jolly Rogers scheme to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the squadron. They originally planned to use a T-45 Goshawk but due to training commitments no aircraft were available hence the USN decision to borrow an Aircraft from the Brits

Desert Storm Whif ‘Debbie’

This is my entry for this group build. I changed my mind a couple of times throughout the build but decided upon this wraparound scheme after I found some decals from a Revell Jaguar.

Premise is What if the RAF used the hawk as a ground attack aircraft during operation desert storm as a stop gap. The camo is a desert version of the wraparound used on hawks by the RAF, but with Mid Stone and Dark Earth.

Hope you enjoy the photos :)

That it Modellers. The GB is over, with some over the line and some not, I got mine uploaded on the last day!!! With awful photos, no time to mess around!

I'll be passing these over to Russ and the Jadlam team to judge the builds. They are a little rushed over Xmas but we should get the results in about a week to 9 days.
