Here's an illustration of the track assembly process.
The constituent parts, from left to right; a pre-assembled section. the linking plate, two pins, the track and the locking plate.

One of the pins is slotted into one end of the linking plate.

The left hand lug is then slotted through the right hand hole in the pre-assembled section.

The second pin must then be slotted through both holes in the linking plate and the right hand hole of the pre-assembled section, simultaneously.

The locking plate can now be fitted over the pre-assembled track. Note the square hole fits over the square lug and the two holes at each end slot over the nobs on the backs of the pins.

The tread must be wriggled on, first the right hand pin into the left hand hole,

then the lower section in the same way.

And on to the next one.

This is where I got to before my fears were realised.

I hope they've supplied plenty of spares because no end have broken in the assembly process and cannot be used 😠

I've gone back to these broken ones.

Because they're being glued, they will form a straight section.

Well, it was Baldrick inspired. Here's my solution
51090480508_4ac34f893e_z.jpg
a length of the kit track has been inserted to bridge the gap

They are very fragile and averse to handling

The whole thing will be glued down and grass added

I think I can move on to completing the LVT now.

knowing the kit parts, the effect with those "suspending" tracks could have NEVER EVER been achieved without that extra work you put in ("extra work" feels almost like diminishing it, after what you've shown). Looking forward to seeing the thing grow complete! 😃😃😃

(that is where I got these 'seat rows'... I remembered keeping the guns and shields, but not those)
