diases
Hi Guys. Do any of you experts out there know if British AFV's have a standard base colour, then Sand Yellow overlaid onto it. I have the Challenger 2 TES and Warrior TES to build and would like a very worn look (Sand Blasted?), so want to get the correct colour layers incorporated. Cheers in advance Paul
Longbow
Green.... The sand color tends to wear pretty badly, and the green shows through.
diases
Cheers longbow. I thought that would be the case. Paul
Kingsman
The colour is Light Stone BS361 from the BS381C colour standard. It is the same Light Stone 61 colour from BS381 as used during WW2.
diases
Cheers Das, Thats more info than I expected. I'll have to research the best match for it. Cheers Paul
Kingsman
That I can't help you with. I do know that AKI believe that their Warm Sandy Yellow is a match, and sell it as such in some of their paint sets. Examining "the most correct colour" usually opens a large can of worms, wiggly, Mk1. This same subject came up over on Missing Lynx recently where I posted some swatches of the same theoretical colour. Rather than repeat it all, look here - https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missinglynx/british-fv510-warrior-tes-h-aifv-best-sand-yellow--t325445.html Edited October 28, 2020 by Das Abteilung addition
