What is currently the best 1/72 Gripen, both sigle and two seater?

Revell but this only represents the C/D variants, while Italeri produced a Gripen A and a B.

Speaking of Revell, the good one is the latest tool, the box will say JAS-39C or JAS-39D and are based on this one:

The same Revell previously reboxed the Italeri kit (JAS-39A) and even earlier they had a kit of the prototype.

Revell for all of them - You'll get a better looking A/B by doing a few small backdates to the C/D kits rather than trying to tart up the Italeri kit

I backdated the D to a B here, the model's not finished yet but the conversion work is done.

+1 for Revell kit no: 04999 for the single seater or 03956 for the double seater (also available as  gift sets 64999 and 63956).

I found the single seater hard to fond lately though, so you should grab one if you see it. The double seater is way easier to get hold if ATM.

There is not much choice beyond them either:

There are the old Revell kits based on the prototype, and then there is the aforementioned Italeri kit, which has also been reboxed by Revell Airfix, Tamiya, KP and Bilek.

The nice thing about the later Italeri boxing are the decals though, as they also cover hungarian and SAAF Gripens, while the Revell one only takes czech and swedish liveries into account.
