PROPELLER
Some month ago, Mr C asked me to show you the WIP of my Ford GT40. I declined , but after the success of the Talbot revival WIP, and with the slow Citroën WIP, I'm going to show you my first 100% scratchbuilt, except, as usual, tires ( Another Monogram Deuce gift!) and rims, 3D resin printed on an industrial machine, by courtesy of a friend of mine... My apologize dear Mr C, you had a good idea, thanks, I repair now I hope for your and others pleasure! We are in 2005. The result first, as usual... A few precisions... As the real car, the body will be in fiberglass, and the "tube" metal. In part in fact, at that time my bodywork knowledge was not enough... Who say fiberglass, of course has to firstly work on a "master", to realize a mold. For now, may be I have to put those pics on Maritime Modelling forum... I started on a MarkII, but the MarkI shape is to my eyes more beautiful... It will be a MarkI ! I suppose you want more? Dan.

PROPELLER
Thank you very much gentlemen! Your enthusiasm is a real pleasure. One month later, in 2009 in fact... As usual, details are important and not really easy to achieve... An important one, doors... I have to dig the outlines to find easily where to cut out the fiberglass parts, one day! Others nightmares... And if you ask the question why the Mark I? The answer: Thanks for watching, Dan.

Mr Mansfield
Jaw dropping! How much of the overall shape was done by ‘eye’ and how much was precise measurements?
PROPELLER
Thanks guys! 14 hours ago, Mr Mansfield said: How much of the overall shape was done by ‘eye’ and how much was precise measurements? What a good question Mr Mansfield! Unfortunately, no precise drawings, only some outlines as you can see on the first pic... And it's a mark II ! The rest, by "eye", fortunately I have a good "vision" in 3D... Well, after consultation with my personal translator, my "master" became "body buck", thanks Mr C. Do you think it's finished? No, some work is needed on it: Easier with a template! Now, rear... Now, it's ready for paint! A new sculpture at home... Dan. 9

Impeccable preparation is key for buck making, whether it be for vac-forming, fibreglass or metal....... you've nailed it, Dan. Nice guns, too, btw. PROPELLER
Thank you very much all! It's a pleasure to I too to restart this building method, and honestly, sometimes I say myself wow... what a courage! I was more young... Well, it's called by GT 40 experts, the "tub". Here it is a 1/1 tub: And mine... Of course without drawings, I have to draw my own! No way to work on the air... And here, my big regret. The "tub" will be a metal/plastic mix... Let's go! Front suspension is coming: By the way, GT40, 40 why? May be some of you don't know why. 40 inches tall! Small isn't? Dan.

PROPELLER
Ron, please come back with us, you are welcome... 22 hours ago, Stickframe said: Thank you for such thorough and clear information Thanks Nick, I'm proud that my English is suffisant! And thanks Dinky and the others for the notifications... Front suspensions and wheels hubs. Upper arms... Technical approach. Once drawn on the aluminum plate, settings on place, then soldering. Notice the solder small pieces on the junctions, it's my method... Front wheels hubs, complex pieces... And a non conventional method! But it works... Steering system is coming too:

PROPELLER
Again kind words, thank you very much gentlemen... Front shocks absorbers: And of course now rear side... The engine bay is also quite complex... With some parts like this: How to? Some of you saw I imagine this: On my drawings, in accordance only pics I had, I could not see this detail... Mistake? And I got that: Great, great satisfaction! Engine bay is now almost completed... Thanks for watching! Dan.
